From Archbishop James of the Orthodox American Church:

April 6, 2026

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

As we celebrate the Anniversary of the death of His Majesty, The Omukama Chwa II. Kabalega at Jinja, National hero of the Republic of Uganda, we are reminded that Christ’s Kingdom is Spiritual and within each of us.

Although we live in physical bodies that grow old, die, and return to dust, we are not a body, but rather we are eternal Spiritual beings, the Light that gives life to the body we inhabit. The Omukama Chwa II. Kabalega remains a Light and a symbol of duty and the inflexibility against invaders.

Be comforted knowing God’s Individual Presence and His Spiritual Kingdom within us are nurturing and caring for His Majesty, The Omukama and Her Majesty the Omugo, as well as the Kingdom of Bunyoro-Kitara.

May the Blessing and Mercy of our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ send forth the Light in every heart to guide and protect you. Amen.
