The Springfield Urban Forest Commission (UFC) has been diligently working for over four years to bring a healthier and more diverse urban canopy to Springfield and surrounding areas. They have secured thousands of free trees to be planted in Central Illinois every spring, using volunteers to plant hundreds of trees in the heart of the Capitol City.
