Food is one of the most basic needs…
but it’s also one of the most powerful ways we care for our community!

The American Indian Center of Springfield Food Pantry serves AICS members, RISE participants, International Institute clients, and neighbors across our community who are facing moments of need.

EVERY donation goes directly toward purchasing food and keeping shelves stocked for families right here in Springfield!💙

If you’re able, your support makes an immediate difference.

This Monday for the Youth Beading Program, we will be making Bone and Glass Necklaces starting at 9 AM. At 10 or 11 AM, we will discuss the four sacred medicines and learn how to harvest two of them from our medicine garden outside our office building! In addition to harvesting our sage and sweetgrass, we will learn how to braid sweetgrass and bundle sage! This will be a great learning experience for the kids! In the afternoon, we will start learning how to bead around cabs for our Cab Earring Class! This is a great stepping stone for learning to bead on Pellon, the stiff felt backing for flat beadwork. I have attached example pictures of the necklaces and the cab earrings for your reference!

The cost for adults participating in this week's session will be $5 per activity. The activities we are charging for will be the Bone and Glass Necklaces and the Cab Earring Classes.

Don't forget to pack a lunch for your children if they will be attending the class during the Noon hour.

If you have not signed up for the beading program yet, please sign up here! https://forms.gle/bRnPPXkiqeZiJBZf8
