Tonight, we open the first in the Opera Vermont cycle of the operas of William Grant Still -- A Bayou Legend -- at the Chandler Center for the Arts! Next week, the same opera will receive a symphonic concert performance at Clark University, alongside the Clark University Choirs and the Clark University Symphony Orchestra. These performances will be led by our Maestro, Cailin Marcel Manson.

We are proud to be a part of this project to uplift the music and legacy of the "Dean of African-American Composers." The involvement of students from Clark Universitx and the Longy School of Music of Bard College is deeply important to NERO and its mission to normalize the performance of this great music and to build experiences that connect across communities centering this music and artistry.

Join NERO as we play side-by-side with the Clark University Symphony Orchestra NEXT WEEK in two fantastic pieces commemorating and signifying protest: Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson's Grass and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 5 in D, "Reformation" at the Daniels Theater in Atwood Hall on the Clark University campus. The phenomenal pianist Yelena Beriyeva is the featured soloist for the evening.

The New England Repertory Orchestra is proud to announce that we have received a Creative Vitality grant from the Barr Foundation. This 36-month grant will give operational support to NERO as it continues to grow strategically, deepen its mission and serve our greater community!
