Royal jelly is a nutrient-rich, milky-white, acidic secretion from the hypopharyngeal and mandibular glands of young worker bees, primarily used to feed queen bees and young larvae. Known as a "superfood" of the hive, it enables queens to grow larger, live for years instead of weeks, and lay thousands of eggs daily.

Spring is almost here!
It's almost 70 today so I took a peek in a couple of hives this afternoon. They're all bringing in pollen and a little nectar from the silver and red Maples. However it's still going to get cold so the sugar bricks will remain on for a little while!
