Real impact doesn’t start with programs—it starts with listening.

Across Africa, Africa Oasis is taking intentional steps to slow down and ask the right questions before moving forward.
What makes a child vulnerable in different communities?
Why are children at risk in the first place?
What is the Church already seeing, experiencing, and carrying the burden for?

We believe the most effective way to serve children at risk is to first understand their realities, their environments, and the unique challenges they face. As we listen well today, we’re laying the foundation for meaningful, long-term transformation tomorrow. 🌍

One of the things that has impacted Grace, an AGWM Africa missionary partnering with Africa Oasis, since arriving in Nairobi is the realization of how inaccessible basic health knowledge can be — not because people don't care, but simply because no one has had the chance to teach them.

As a nurse and missionary, she has stepped into that gap with both humility and purpose, recognizing the weight of what it means to simply share what she knows. But Grace and her family see their work as much bigger than health training.

Their heart is for the whole family — and especially for the next generation. They believe this season of life is critical for children and young people, a time when identity is being formed and the need for discipleship and connection with the Lord is deep and real.

Health education in Africa is anything but one-size-fits-all.

Grace Tillman partners with Africa Oasis to lead training sessions with pregnant women and mothers of young children that are hands-on, interactive, and built around real life in Nairobi, Kenya. Her goal is to make health information simple, applicable, and culturally relevant — so that what women learn in the room actually follows them home and makes a difference in how they care for themselves and their children. It's sustainable solutions in the truest sense.

Water struck. Hearts full. 🙌

When we train pastors to advance access to the gospel in Mali, it means safe water and Living Water for communities who need both. We received this video from our African partners of a water well being drilled.

This well at our Bible school isn't just a source of hydration — it's a testimony of what compassion ministry looks like when the local church is equipped and sent.

After two months of health education work in Nairobi, one truth has stayed with missionary, Grace Tillman. Above all else: something as simple as basic nutrition can be genuinely life-saving.

Grace shared how she is often struck by how much of what she knows was freely given to her — knowledge she received through education, training, and experience. Being in Kenya has made her deeply aware of how much people take for granted what they've been taught. And it has made her more committed than ever to sharing it.

For Grace Tillman, an AGWM Africa missionary, health education has never been separate from ministry — it's an expression of it.

Serving in Nairobi, Kenya and partnering with Africa Oasis, she has seen firsthand how meeting practical, physical needs can open the door to deeper conversations about hope and about Jesus. Now two months into her time in Nairobi, that conviction has only grown stronger.

Every training session, every answered question, every moment of practical care is an opportunity to reflect the love of Christ to the women and families she serves.

Grace Tillman and her family serve as missionaries in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing a deep love for the next generation and a commitment to strengthening families through both discipleship and practical care.

With backgrounds in nursing and pastoring, Grace and her husband are focused on equipping families, investing in children and youth, and creating space for people to encounter Jesus in a real and personal way.

Their ministry and partnership with Africa Oasis weaves together compassion and the Gospel — meeting people where they are, in body and spirit.

Raising up leaders where the gospel is needed most. 📖

In Chad, men and women are being equipped through Bible school training to faithfully share the hope of Jesus in their communities. What starts in a classroom doesn’t stay there, it multiplies into churches planted, lives transformed, and the gospel reaching places it’s never been before.

This is what your generosity makes possible— impact for generations.
Keep praying for these leaders as they go, and if you want to be part of stories like this, learn more at africaoasis.org!

Every person carries God-given worth—and that truth shapes everything.

Africa Oasis approaches every community with deep respect, recognizing that people are not projects to fix, but individuals to honor.

By working through the local church and listening first, they ensure that every initiative upholds dignity, values voices, and strengthens—not replaces—what already exists.

Because true compassion doesn’t diminish—it restores and affirms the value God has already placed in each life.

At the center of it all is Jesus.

Africa Oasis exists to reflect His compassion—meeting practical needs while pointing to a deeper hope. Through partnerships with local churches, communities are experiencing care that looks like Jesus: present, personal, and full of love.

From providing clean water to supporting families and empowering women, every initiative is advancing gospel access.

Because the goal isn’t just changed circumstances—it’s transformed lives through the love of Christ.
