Dear Springfield,

While tonight's results were obviously not what we hoped for, I am so incredibly proud of this campaign and all that we accomplished. For 11 months we engaged community members in historically underserved neighborhoods and uplifted their voices in this election.

I am deeply grateful to everybody who took the time to vote for me and who contributed to this campaign.

Congratulations to Melvin on running a successful campaign, and I hope that we can take all that we've learned from this campaign and work together to deliver for the residents of Springfield.

And of course, my deepest thanks goes out to my family, my campaign committee, and all the volunteers who helped us reach out to voters across Ward 3. I am eternally thankful for you all.

This is not the last you all will hear from me. I am a dedicated public servant and I will continue to strive to be an asset for our community.
