UPDATE: All gone! Enjoy. 😊
We hope to have produce to share eventually this summer. Everything seems to be growing very slowly.

Free Fresh Farm Eggs😊

🐓 🥚 We have 6 half dozen fresh farm eggs to share with our neighbors 🐓 🥚

If you are not used to fresh eggs please know there is a reason they are not washed. 😃

❓Here is why…. ❓

“Eggs have a natural coating called a “cuticle” or “bloom” that protects the contents from bacteria. When that cuticle is washed off, the semipermeable shell can allow bacteria to pass through and contaminate the contents. So, if you wash the protective coating off the eggs, immediately cook them or store in the fridge.”

Free plants TODAY (May 28th)

UPDATE: The seed and plant distribution is now complete. Thank you to all who participated in this event.

Our free seed and plant distribution is tomorrow at Crosslines of Springfield starting at 11 a.m. and ending when we run out of plants! Event is open to the public, and plants are available on a first come, first served basis. Keep an eye on our social media for any changes due to weather or plant availability.

The community fridge at the Midtown Carnegie Library has served nearly 3,000 patrons since mid September! Community fridges are making an incredible impact in Springfield—helping to reduce barriers and increase access to healthy, local food!

One patron said, “I want to thank you and all the people who have been making the fresh, local produce available at Midtown. As a widow on a fixed income, I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy so much more and more varieties of salad greens, root vegetables and extras like gorgeous beets and fresh strawberries. I’ve had a chance to taste exotic things I’ve never had before like Japanese sweet potatoes, daikon radishes, mizuna, several kinds of micro greens and pea shoots. I’ve definitely added more fresh food to my diet, especially in the winter when produce is higher and of lower quality (due to transportation) in the grocery store.”
🙌🫑🥰

Please note that the Midtown Carnegie Library is now closed for construction. Starting June 3rd, the fridge will be MOVED to the Library Station (2535 N Kansas Expy, Springfield, MO 65803) until further notice. Springfield-Greene County Library District

Want/need free tomato plants?
Currently have quite a few volunteer tomato plants coming up in the greenhouse.
I hate to just pull & toss them.
We will put in pots and give away soon if you are interested.
We had multiple types last year so it will be a surprise as to what kind they are. 😀
