Here's another story I would love to share! 🫶🏻❤️

I talked about Purrsephone a lot on my personal page, I called her and her brother my "Ghost Cats..."

Here is an Update! 💞

They were 2 cats out of a litter of 4 older kittens I was given to socialize.

2 out of 4 socialized easily and were able to be placed into a shelter for adoption, but for some reason Purrsephone and her Brother Purrmetheus did not want to socialize.

I held them for over a year in my cat room and continued to work with them daily.

Every so often I find a home for my ghost cats, and that's Purrmetheus story. He moved into a friend's house and they named him "Casper the Friendly Ghost Cat"

He's basically a normal cat now.

Purrsephone was the worst of two of them, and since I had them for over a year I just did not want to send her to any barn home.

Luckily I had one of the best barn homes acquired for cats via our website... And I was able to place her and 4 other ghost cats from various other TNR friends at two local rescues.

This is a Story about how it is so important to listen to your community when it comes to outdoor cats...

I was checking out at Walmart with several cases of kitten food, because you know (normal person activities).

The cashier asked me if my cat had kittens. And I was like "No, actually I run a TNR nonprofit and I have some feral kittens I'm socializing"

She immediately told me how a cat she was feeding had kittens on her porch last night and she didn't know what to do as she reached out to everyone when she was pregnant, and everyone just replied with how she should take her to a low cost clinic for a spay abort.

Now she's rejecting her day old kittens and she had to go to work, so they are probably going to die.

She then said that "I don't have a car"
"I feel like these Rescues don't realize that I literally don't have any way to take her to a clinic, and no one else cares."

This hits home for me.


I know this. I know that people care and they literally can't get those cats to clinics. There's a huge hurdle in getting an animal to a clinic, and at 7am no less.

She was young, and just trying to stay afloat.

This is NOT an easy task in her shoes.

I'm not a a super hero by any means, and I wish I could do this for everyone; I can't. I take cases based entirely on maximum impact. And the cat problem is just too large for me to stay sane and still continue the greater mission.

But her story hit me, and she was standing right in front of me.

I told her to text me to remind me and I would get her cat fixed. When we went to location there were several strays present, and it was a multi unit complex. You could tell everyone on that block loved cats. There were shelters and food bowls outside multiple units.

She said that there was 2 females who were not fixed.

So I arranged to fix them both. I transported them, recovered them, and returned them.

I did not do this for a donation, I just do this, it's how I give back to my community.

It's not a perfect world, and I'm not a perfect person, but I really do want to help.

Sadly this happens more than you realize. Needless suffering and death happen all around us, but we can step up and be the change they need!

Their mom died after giving birth. Along with another kitten. Dying isn’t CUTE!!!!!!!

Feline pregnancy doesn’t just lead to more kittens—it also brings tremendous risk and heartbreaking suffering.

Too many mother cats face difficult pregnancies, life-threatening complications, or struggle to find enough food to support themselves and their babies. Countless kittens are stillborn, become sick, are orphaned, or die before they’re old enough to survive on their own. Others grow up outdoors, only to repeat the same cycle of suffering and overpopulation.

The heartbreaking truth is that so much of this is preventable.

Spaying and neutering doesn’t just reduce the number of homeless cats—it saves lives. It protects mothers from the physical toll of repeated pregnancies, prevents kittens from being born into dangerous conditions, and reduces the endless cycle of suffering we see every single day.

Spay. Neuter. Prevent suffering. Save lives. 🐾

We sure do love the posts from our friends at TNR Works. While there's a good portion of the world around us that has no idea what TNR is or how it works, the precious few who do are out there making a difference. It comes with risks, because outdoor cats are susceptible to so many viruses and injuries, but we keep on doing what we do because we care. Those little tipped ears are the mark of love, an act of compassion for those who don't have a voice.

Thanks to all of the colony caretakers out there! Every cat matters.

I think sometimes people don’t see caring for feral colonies as real rescue 🐾 and I understand it may not look the same as other work, but it is constant and it matters.

I also understand that in rescue, people sometimes view things differently, and there can be an unspoken hierarchy where intake, adoptions, and higher numbers are seen as more important, while colony work gets overlooked. But what I do is constant and it matters.

For over 25 years, I was out there doing it all… trapping, fostering, adoptions, and still showing up for the colonies every single day 🐱 Not many are willing to take on feral colonies or that kind of ongoing responsibility.

Even when I got sick and things changed, I never stopped being there for the cats who depend on me.

There are no days off with this. It may not always be seen, but it is real, it is hard, and it matters more than people realize. They don’t have what the indoor cats have. And it’s so sad. 😞

And I want to truly thank those who supported me when I was suffering. Your kindness and support meant more than you know 💛🐾 I will remember you when I’m blessed to give back.
