Grace Donoho started the Arkansas Holocaust Education Committee 25 years ago when she found out her children were not taught about the Holocaust in Arkansas schools. AHEC host an annual conference on the Holocaust to educate High School and junior high students and educators about the holocaust. We bring in experts on the subject of the Holocaust and Survivors to talk to our youth and our teachers

. Teachers get professional development credit for attending the conference. Morning refreshments are provided by Temple Shalom of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville. We also offer a training called Echos and Reflections to teachers at no cost. This training also gives teachers professional development credit and materials to teach about the holocaust in their classrooms. There is a Shabbat dinner at Temple Shalom to remember the holocaust and on Saturday morning there is a family forum at Congregation Etz Chaim for Local Jewish families and children to be able to learn from the experts.
