We had many lovely plants on display at our last OSO meeting, and should have even more when we meet Sunday, June 28 at 1:30 at the Northwest Technical Institute in Springdale. We're meeting on the fourth Sunday this month so we don't conflict with Father's Day. More to follow about our guest speaker....

We normally have our monthly meetings on the third Sunday of the month, but this month that conflicts with the Tulsa Orchid Society’s great annual Show and Sale, Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17. Check their website, page, or even scroll our page for details. It’s always a great show, with lots of plants for sale, we will have an exhibit, and we encourage everyone to attend.

Happy Mother's Day. Looking for a great gift idea? How about an orchid?

At our Sunday meeting we had the biggest ever assortment of orchids brought in by our members for display and judging. It was like we were having our own orchid show — but a lot less work.
We have displays like this— well maybe not this big — at most of our regular monthly meetings— just one more reason to drop in.
Thanks to Brady Quick for the picture.

Ron Parsons, the man who literally co-wrote the book on miniature orchids, will be the guest speaker at the OSO April meeting, this Sunday the
19th at Northwest Technical Institute, Highway 265 at in Springdale. He will give a talk on miniature orchids following our short meeting, which starts at 1:30.
Ron has been growing orchids for nearly 49 years and is nationally known for his expertise. He and his co-author, Mary E. Gerritsen, have recently completed their much-revised second edition of A Compendium of Miniature Orchids Species. It is now in four volumes with 3100 photos (1800 of those are new), including those of more than 500 species not in the first edition.
The meeting is open to all members and guests. Arrive early to see the display of members’ blooming plants— it’s like a mini orchid show in itself.
