Central Avenue (State Route 73) is closed from the 600-Block to the 800-block, in both directions, due to downed power lines.

(As a reference, this is in the area from Pioneer Ave to Sharts Road)

At the end of last school year, the Clearcreek Professional Firefighters looked to involve art students at the Junior High for a future fundraiser. A contest was held for 7th grade art students to create a design. Numerous works were submitted, with Stella’s design ultimately being selected just recently.

Thank you to all the students who participated in making great works of art, as well as Art Teacher Alissa Gantt for her work with getting the students involved in this wonderful community project!

The deadline to order your apparel is Sept. 23. All orders will be available for pick-up or delivery by Oct. 7 (visit website for details).

The Clearcreek Fire District, Clearcreek Police Department, and Clearcreek Professional Firefighter’s Local 4207 have teamed up to bring Dr. Steven James from Washington State University for a presentation on sleep deprivation in first responders. Dr. James is a core faculty member of the Sleep and Performance Research Center at WSU. His research focuses on the interaction between sleep related fatigue and high consequence occupations in public safety. Prior to his career in academics Dr. James spent 23 years in the British infantry as a soldier and officer; serving in Cyprus, the former Yugoslavia, Northern Ireland, and Afghanistan.
