SPRINGBORO PARADE

We are #12

NEW POST PARADE ROUTE:
This year the POST parade route looks different and that is because the Springboro Police have instructed us to follow this plan. WE NEED YOU TO FOLLOW THIS PLAN.
Directions:

Turn left onto W. North Street
Left onto Florence Dr DO NOT STOP AND UNLOAD!
Right onto Mill St
Left onto Lookout St
Left onto Elmwood Dr and back to Clearcreek Elementary.
When groups stop on Florence Dr. it leads to backing up and slowing down the groups behind you and then the whole parade.

NEW PARADE PATROL:
We also have the Masons volunteering as Parade Patrol this year, something leaders in the community and SPD highly suggested due to rising safety concerns. The Masons will be in hi vis orange vests. On Main St. they will be keeping kids and adults out of the street and telling groups to speed up or slow down if gaps appear. They will also be on the POST parade route to direct floats and keep the flow of traffic moving. Please respect them and their directions.

All groups will be reminded of the route change prior to the parade as well.

Things we must stress and ask you to stress to your participants that cause the most confusion/issues/safety issues/etc each year:
- Drop off happens via the `U` in front of Clearcreek Elementary. Do not drop off on 741!
- There is NO turning around in the float entrance if you missed the participant drop off.
- If a vehicle isn't driving in the parade it does NOT enter the staging area.
- That you know your #. It helps our volunteers help you!
- Be aware of moving vehicles when walking.
- When driving be aware of the walkers. There are a LOT of children around.

DO NOT THROW CANDY. AGAIN, DO NOT THROW CANDY!
NO SANTA's on your float.
- Listen and be nice to our volunteers.
- Review the rules below!

A new Memorial flag was raised in honor of Edward Joseph Klosek and donated by Thomas and Christine Montour. Edward Klosesk, Chris Montour’s father, was a veteran of World War II, having fought on the shores of Normandy.

“Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”

Brother Knights of Columbus from Assembly 3188 and Council 14400 prayed the Rosary on All Saints Day at the final resting place of our departed brother, Chaplain, and Faithful Friar Sir Knight Father James J. Manning. “Fr. Jim” was a model and inspiration to many in the Dayton area where he ministered for nearly 50 years up to his passing in September 2024. We were joined by John Manning, Father Jim’s brother, representing the Manning Family.
