Water Communion is a beloved Unitarian Universalist tradition celebrating community, connection, and renewal. Please bring water from places or experiences that hold special meaning for you, and we will combine those waters into a shared vessel. As the waters mingle, they symbolize the many journeys, stories, and gifts we each bring to our community, and remind us that, together, we create something greater than any one of us.

This Sunday's service: "Virtual and Hybrid Ministry: Mindful Care and Connection" by Dana Ashrawi.
Tapestry UU Church of Houston has contracted a new minister who will be joining us remotely at times. We already offer Zoom access to worship services, along with many other congregations. So, what new and current practices will be important to our growing community? How can we begin again with Multiplatform worship, keeping what works while expanding into new ways? Based on a workshop at the Unitarian Universalist Association's 2026 virtual General Assembly, this sermon will explore emerging best practices and wisdom for virtual and hybrid ministry as faithful, effective responses to a growing reality in Unitarian Universalism - Multiplatform group events such as the worship services of our congregation. Let's delve into new ideas to foster stronger relationships between a minister and congregation and support volunteer leadership, grounded in UU values. Let's expand our denominational imagination and embrace new possibilities for even more mindful and meaningful ministry and leadership.

This Sunday's Sermon: "All Work and No Play?" by Bill Cork
Many of us grew up with a version of the “Protestant Work ethic,” that put supreme value on hard work and sacrifice. Today, we see that reflected in some successful entrepreneurs on social media who laugh at the idea of “work-life balance.” In the Bible, rest and play are divine commands; God is portrayed as creative and inviting us into the divine play and divine rest. Rest is not merely good advice, but is to participate in God’s holiness.
