The North Hill Estates Civic Club has decided to continue & support the previous board's creation of the CARES Committee (Community Assistance, Relief, Encouragement & Support Committee)!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲'𝘀 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄

𝗣𝗨𝗥𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗘 - To serve the North Hill Estates and Lynwood Estates neighborhood by providing a variety of support to neighbors in need

𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦 - various support and aid provided by community members who want to help others. Support could include providing meals, storm clean-up assistance, physical assistance with light-duty maintenance needs, lending community member resources as available, and potentially additional tasks on a case-by-case basis.

𝗪𝗛𝗢 - the CARES Committee will receive requests for assistance via the online form linked below, connect with the resident in need & on a case-by-case basis, evaluate how the community as a whole can come together to assist that requesting resident in their time of need. (This is a "hand up" committee of neighbors helping neighbors)

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 - not a financial assistance program, a contractor referral program

𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗘 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗩𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 - want to volunteer and be part of the CARES Committee, comment below, and we will reach out.

The summer heat is here, but our neighbors are keeping the neighborhood looking incredibly cool and green. Our Yard of the Month committee just wrapped up their latest rounds, and we have some serious landscaping talent to celebrate!

Here are the properties turning heads this month:

🥇 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 | 𝘽𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙩 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙚
Your yard is an absolute showstopper. Thank you for putting in the time and effort to elevate our community's curb appeal!

Want to see your yard featured? Our judges look for tidy lawns, thriving flower beds, and great overall presentation.

Just remember, the ultimate prerequisite for taking home the official title is being current on your Civic Club dues! The committee saw several beautiful contenders who missed out on a spot this month because of unpaid dues. Let's make sure your hard work counts.

Hey neighbors! With more e-bikes on our neighborhood streets and paths, it is important for everyone to understand the rules of the road to keep our community safe.

Constable Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4, shared a helpful breakdown of E-Bikes in Texas. Take a look at the attached infographic to understand the differences between legal e-bikes and illegal motorized vehicles.

✅ Legal E-Bikes (Texas Law Compliant):
• Must have fully operable pedals for human propulsion.
• Electric assist only (motor may not propel the bike without pedaling).
• Max motor output of 750 watts or less, and max assisted speed of 28 mph or less.
• These are treated like regular bicycles and can be ridden on bike paths, in bike lanes, and on streets. (Riders under 18 must wear a helmet!)

❌ Illegal "E-Bikes" (Not Street Legal):
• Electric motorcycles, dirt bikes, and off-road vehicles (like Surron, Talaria, or Razor dirt bikes) do NOT meet the legal definition of a bicycle.
• They are prohibited on streets, sidewalks, and bike paths.
• Operating these on roads or paths can result in citations, fines up to $500, or vehicle impoundment.

THANKS to all who attended Monday evening's meeting of the North Hill Estates Civic Club in our new venue courtesy of Spring Baptist Church. We had a GREAT TURNOUT, including a full Board of Directors, Officers, a full set of committee reports, and plenty of board-audience dialogue. We look forward to seeing you there again the second Monday of July (the 13th).
