Everyone meet Simba and Tinkerbell!

⭐️🌟 SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK! 🌟⭐️

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! ✨💫

Simba and Tinkerbell are 5-year-old Labrador Retriever siblings who were owner-surrendered to Harris County Shelter the day before Thanksgiving… with their holiday collars still on. Yes, you read that correctly. Extremely heartbreaking - but true.

The moment we were notified they had arrived at the shelter, our staff immediately said, “We have to help them so they don’t get separated.”

When Max and Cassidy walked through the shelter doors and found these two babies still wearing their pumpkin and fall collars… there truly were no words

They were surrendered because their owners had “no time” for them anymore. But those same owners?
They had enough time to schedule a surrender appointment weeks—if not months—in advance.
Enough time to load them up.
Drive them to the shelter.
And drop them off… fully knowing owner surrenders are at high risk for euthanasia.

And so now your first question is probably: “Okay, so what’s wrong with them?”
Let us be the first to tell you: absolutely nothing.
No behavior issues. No concerns. Not a single red flag. Just two incredibly sweet, well-trained dogs who deserved so much better. So much more.

Simba is our big, handsome, white chunky mister man!
• 117 lbs of pure gentle giant sweetness
• Loves chewing on bones
• Loves chasing his sister (emphasis on chasing - he’s definitely not keeping up 🤣🤪)

Tinkerbell is our beautiful chocolate sweetheart!
• Smaller than her brother
• Obsessed with playing fetch
• Jumps and quite literally spins for a tennis ball
• Knows all her commands

These two are trained, housebroken, and trustworthy in the home.
No crate needed.
No destruction.
No accidents.
And… they LOVE to swim.

On Thanksgiving morning we let them into the backyard for the first time. We turned around while cooking and there they were—splashing in the wading area. Max and Cass just looked at each other and teared up.

On their freedom walk out of the shelter, they practically dragged us to the car—they couldn’t jump in fast enough. A loud, high-intake shelter where owner surrenders are euthanized far too often was no place for these two angels.

Their shelter intake and freedom walk were deeply emotional, and it was clear these two rely on each other for comfort and stability. Yes—someone could’ve walked into the shelter and adopted them separately. But dogs can’t speak. Dogs can’t say, “Please don’t take me without my sibling.”
That’s what we’re here for.
That’s what makes our rescue special and unique. ❤️

They are truly a bonded pair and match made in heaven. For this reason, they will only be placed as a pair.

They deserve a forever HOME, together. ❤️⭐️🌟

Happy Sunday!

Brady is looking for his forever home this holiday season!

Read below to see what his foster sister (age 10) has to say about him 🤍

“Hi, my name is Brady, and I am great with kids.
I love to spend time with my family♥️ (which I hope is you). I’m dog friendly, and I also like my alone time. I will go in my kennel on my own, and when I’m told. I am potty trained! I take treats nicely, and I know basic commands. I love to lay in the same room as my humans. My foster family doesn’t like pets on furniture, but if you did, I would love snuggling you on the couch. I’m very calm, and I would make a great Christmas gift for your family” - From Censley ❤️♥️

Meet Jessie ✨

Saved on birthday late in the evening when urgently needing immediate surgery and every minute mattered.

When Cassidy got the call about Jessie needing very expensive and immediate surgery that the owner couldn’t afford in order to save her life, like always, Cass and Max figured out a way to get the funds in order to save her life.

Just an hour before the phone call took place, Cass had called her mom and said she knew what she wanted for her birthday… she wanted to go and save a cat

Sometimes things are just meant to be

Welcome to our crew, Jessie girl

Our Goldie girl ✨

This sweet girl was special - if you ever met her while she was in our care, than you know exactly what I’m talking about

She will forever hold a special place in our heart because we saved her and her three 4 day old puppies just 6 weeks before Rhett was born… yes, we know… we’re crazy people 😎

We spent the last few weeks of my pregnancy cleaning up after puppies and nursing sweet Goldie back to health after delivering her babies out on the street. No mamas left behind, right? We only thought it was fitting to help a mama in need during our final nesting days 😊

She’s the first dog to ever break out of a window and go exploring on the roof to find me and 😂😅 … more than once.

She has a love for bagels that’s unmatched - I’ve never seen anything like it and probably never will. I kid you not, multiple times throughout her stay and recovery here with us she would finesse a full bag of bagels and trick Max after he caught her and would have another bag hiding somewhere else in the house. She came to us severely severely underweight (43 lbs) and definitely loves bagels because of having to dig through trash on the streets to feed herself and her babies while pregnant. As a mother, I cannot even imagine the stress her body went through to protect herself and her unborn babies while out on the streets

She has a love for fetch and 🎾 playing with tennis balls. We spent our days pre baby and postpartum playing in the yard with Goldie and her babies. It’s something I can’t wait to write about in the baby books 🤍

She kept Brooks busy and active during the slower days pre and post baby where mommy and daddy might’ve lacked here and there - she was always there to pick up our slack

And then, like always, with the help of sharing our posts - we found her a great forever family just an hour away where we get to see and keep up with Goldie for the rest of her days. After raising and providing for her babies the way that she did… (it was truly remarkable) she gets to be a puppy herself now

Goldie taught us so many new things about ourselves and each other and we will forever be grateful for our time with her 🩷
