Update on Kayla:

Kayla had an ultrasound & exam yesterday. They found NO visual evidence of any cancer! It has stayed gone! The treatment worked 🙏 We are so grateful!

The doctor did reconfirm that she is in menopause, as we knew. They also reconfirmed that she will never be able to get pregnant or carry a baby. Radiation treatment took that. Heartbreaking for us but we will persevere.

We have a surrogate and we are going through the motions to do our embryo transfer as soon as we can. It’s taking everything we have, but nothing will stand in our way. We hope to have a Baby Bittick being born around the end of the year!

I’m so proud of Kayla and how she has kept faith through all of this!

It’s been a while since I posted here. After Kayla Bittick finished treatment, we wanted nothing to do with cancer talk for a little while 😅

To update everyone on Kayla’s status: She has been doing so well! Her energy is still not quite back to what it was before, but she is doing great and back to living a “normal” life. We are shooting to transfer our embryo into a surrogate in November or December.

We have another PET/CT in November to confirm the cancer is still gone. After that, scans will be spread out more. She will go in yearly or every other year.

Anyone can get cancer, no matter how healthy you are. It can happen to anyone, anytime. The best way to beat cancer is to catch it early. So for the women out there, if you EVER have unusual pain or other symptoms, always get checked fast. Don’t sit on it. One of the primary reasons Kayla beat such an aggressive type of cancer, is because we caught it early and moved as fast as possible.

Thank you everyone for your continued support. The power of prayer is what got her through it. 🙏

The doctor reviewed Kayla Bittick’s PET/CT scan results with us today and we got the best news we could have hoped for, Kayla is CANCER FREE!!! 🙏👏

We are so incredibly grateful for everyone who has prayed and supported her through this! We couldn’t be more happy!

After the scariest experience of her life, spending 5-6 days a week at MD Anderson & TCH for several months, Kayla was faced with many obstacles and conquered every single one:

- 25 External Beam Radiation Therapy Sessions
- 144 hours of internal radiation. Consisting of 88 internal rad pulse sessions called Brachytherapy. This was extremely difficult to get through.
- Chemotherapy every week almost an entire day
- 40+ IVF prep shots to her stomach
- An abdominal egg retrieval to preserve her dream of having children
- Hundreds of doctors appointments
- Dozens of scans

Kayla is my hero. When we first learned she had a Glassy cell type of Cervical cancer, there was a numbing amount of fear after we did research into it. But Kayla is a fighter. She’s faced this incredibly foggy and terrifying journey with such grace, positivity, strength and faith. It was sad, but truly inspiring to witness. She has had a tremendous amount on her plate this year, but she never gave up being Kayla. She stayed positive and persevered. She almost looked physically unaffected by treatment (she was one of the “lucky” ones to not lose her hair from her chemo) but believe me, she was hurting inside and out. Cancer took things away from her that she can never have back, but in this process we learned that it can’t take away love. Thank you to everyone who helped us through this 💪

2 more months and our frozen embryos will be ready to break out into the world and we can transfer the first one into a gestational carrier (surrogate)! We aren’t 100% who that person is going to be yet, but it will be the greatest gift we’ve ever been given. We have an amazing woman who has offered if she can be medically cleared, but we’re unsure if she will be able to, so we’re praying for that. If she can’t, hopefully someone else capable is brought to us. Our journey trying to have children gets harder every year. This last year tried to take everything from us, but we’re not going to let that happen. We’ve got the money, attorneys, and everything almost prepped. Just need a confirmed surrogate. God willing, this time next year we will have a Baby Bittick being born!

Kayla Bittick’s next PET/CT scan to make sure all her cancer in gone, is on August 26th. Keep her in your prayers please.

Kayla’s follow up MRI has been moved again, to July 18th. PET/CT scan will be in August. We will know the updated status of the cancer after these scans. My guess is it’s gone. Please keep Kayla Bittick in your thoughts and prayers over the next couple of months as the affects from radiation treatment continue to work.

Kayla is loving her post-cancer treatment vacation! Thank you Angela & Lloyd! We will be home at the end of the week.

She has a virtual doctors appointment today. Her next scan will be on July 5th to look for any evidence of remaining cancer cells and evaluate if more treatment is needed moving forward. Praying for a NED diagnosis! (NED means No Evidence of Disease)

Thank you everyone for your support! She really needed this, what a year!

Kayla Bittick is recovering well from treatment 🙏🏼! She is still very tired all the time and her energy isn’t back to normal, but that is to be expected they said. Overall, the doctor said she has handled this treatment better than most 💪. I mean it’s all rough, but she is one tough cookie. Thank you Lord and everyone who continues to support her. She is still fighting this battle both physically and mentally. Please continue to pray.

Benefit for Kayla Bittick was an absolute success!!! Kayla felt so incredibly loved today. I have lots to say about it, I’ll post about it tomorrow when we get the final details on everything.

To update everyone on how Kayla is doing after the incident at the benefit, she’s doing fine now and asleep. For those that weren’t there, she got a little overheated and passed out. Some friends took her to our house, gave her an IV and she started feeling better. Treatment has left her very weak, but she is done with treatment now and on the road to healing!
