The free world nearly changed forever on this day in 1944.

Before D-Day became history, it was thousands of young men stepping into the unknown, knowing many would never return.

The Allied invasion of Normandy was more than a military operation. It was a testament to courage, sacrifice, and duty in the face of overwhelming odds.

As Masons, we honor those timeless virtues and remember the brave souls whose sacrifice helped preserve liberty for generations to come.

May we never forget the price of freedom.

Today, Spring Hill Masonic Lodge pauses in solemn gratitude to honor the brave men and women who served during the Vietnam War.

Their sacrifice was not borne alone. Behind every service member stood families who carried the weight of uncertainty, separation, and sacrifice in their own quiet, steadfast way. We recognize and honor them as well.

The Vietnam generation answered the call to duty in a time of great challenge and division, yet they stood firm in their commitment to something greater than themselves. Their example of duty, honor, and service continues to guide and inspire us, reminding us of the true meaning of courage and resilience.

As Masons, we are taught to live with integrity, to serve others, and to uphold the values that strengthen our communities. Our Vietnam veterans embody these principles in their truest form.

Today, we remember. We honor. And we give thanks.

Your legacy is not forgotten. It lives on in the freedoms we cherish and the example you have set for generations to come.

In Freemasonry, we are taught the virtue of Temperance being the practice of restraint and moderation. True Temperance means knowing when the celebration ends and the responsibility begins. In the spirit of Brotherly Love, we ask you to look out for one another. Please do not drink and drive.

Today we honor Saint John the Evangelist, a timeless symbol of brotherly love, faith, and the pursuit of truth.

Saint John reminds us that strength is found not only in knowledge, but in compassion; not only in words, but in action. His life and teachings reflect values deeply rooted in Freemasonry: integrity, charity, and a commitment to serving others with humility and grace.
