Everyone has the potential to be a leader. Leadership can take many forms, depending on a person’s strengths, interests, and experiences.

The programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County help youth develop leadership skills by increasing their confidence and ability to create meaningful change. It also increases their motivation to become leaders and inspire others. The Leadership and Service Core Program Area supports self-leadership, leadership with others and leadership in communities.

Do you know how to detect trauma? When we think of trauma, we think of a physical accident or injury. But trauma goes deeper than that. Boys & Girls Clubs of Hernando County is creating awareness to detect trauma in our youth. Warning signs can be sleep disturbances; like too much or too little, nightmares, shift in appetite, irritability or anger, anxiety/panic, poor focus, excessive worry, isolative, clingy, outburst/crying/tantrums. If you suspect trauma in any child, notify one of our skilled employees who can guide you to the right authority for assistance.
