Our Story
OUR MISSION: Reining Hope is a ministry that uses horses as a tool to equip young people with the life skills they need to succeed.
When God called me to start a horse program for kids, I wish I could tell you I immediately dropped everything and said, “Here I am, God - all yours!” It took an entire month of sleepless nights before I relented out of pure desperation. The night I said, “Yes” was also the night I experienced the best sleep known to mankind. My stubbornness to obey had stripped me of all peace, and when I chose to step outside of the boat, not only did I float above the waves, but I felt more at peace than I knew possible.
OUR VISION: Reining Hope is a safe haven; a ‘go to’ ministry that changes lives and provides hope, healing, and acceptance for all people in need. We provide opportunities to serve, grow, and unify, reflecting the love of Christ to both the local community and the world.
With humble hearts and big steps of faith, Reining Hope opened its pasture gates to children in 2015. We had two horses, three saddles in various shapes of condition, a few pool noodles and sq**rt guns to play games, and a whole lotta heart and determination. What we witnessed was truly a miracle. One young lady came to the ranch with very little confidence, and she was completely inward due to her autism. In just a couple of months of sessions, this same young girl was making eye contact, speaking to strangers, and making new friends at school - something she’d never done before. Another young boy who was born with Cerebral Palsy went from being unsteady on his feet and unable to sit up in the saddle to running unassisted and sitting tall ba****ck! From the very first session, God has been at work at the ranch. Reining Hope is growing rapidly, and hundreds of sessions take place each year.
