Congratulations to Spring Creek Middle School Principal Salli McDermott! 💜👏

Mrs. McDermott has been named a finalist for the Nevada PTA Lynel Cunningham Site Administrator of the Year Award, which recognizes school administrators who champion strong family-school engagement. She was also recognized at Tuesday’s school board meeting by the ECSD Board of Trustees for this award.

Nominated by Spring Creek Middle School PTA President Jamie Joggerst, Mrs. McDermott’s recognition reflects the strong partnership between SCMS, its families, and the Spring Creek community.

Today (Monday, August 17, 2026) is the first day of school for all pre-K through 12th-grade students! Please drive slowly and carefully as students will be walking, waiting for buses, and using different routes. Let’s keep everyone safe. 🚌 🚦

DonorsChoose is launching Sept. 1, 2026! Thanks to the leadership of Senator Marilyn Dondero-Loop, the Nevada Legislature has allocated $7.5 million for the 2026-2027 school year to champion the efforts of educators. With this investment, more than 11,000 Nevada educators will receive up to $500 in new classroom resources.

If you are a Nevada public school educator, you will receive an email on Sept. 1, 2026, with the new 2026 link and instructions on how to submit your application for funding. Links from previous years will not be functional or accepted for 2026 applications.
