Hey EVERYBODY! The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Tennessee is putting on a Ball . . . . a POPPY BALL! Yes! September 26th at Inglewood Post #82. Wear Poppy theme clothing and come to have a good time. Door prizes - Silent Auction (This is the annual fundraiser for the Department) It's going to be a good time! 5:30 p.m. - 11:-- p.m. (Central time). Scan the code to purchase tickets.

The Unit decided not to try breakfast on Oct. 3rd. Sorry to all those who look forward to it. October is a busy month for us. Our Fall Conference is Oct. 10 at East Ridge Unit #95, We're planning a Community Day on Oct. 17, The Post is hosting a multi-program training on Oct. 24, and, of course, Halloween is Oct. 31.

It was also decided that we will take on the project of providing shoes to the schools for students who may have a need. We will purchase Shoe Store gift cards to give to the resource person at the schools so they can purchase the correct sizes and styles to fit the need. Members of the Unit will donate, the Unit will also use a percentage of fundraiser proceeds (maybe holding a fundraiser specifically for the project), and any citizen of the community is, of course, welcome to donate towards this project. This will be long-range, on-going project as there is always a need.

Unit 203 Auxiliary meeting Tuesday, August 18th at 6 pm at the Post at 179 W Jackson Avenue. . Discussion about possible Community Day coming up October-November. See you there!

There are several wheelchairs available if there is a need. Please send a message and arrangements can be made for pickup. These were donated to us and we'd be more than happy to try to meet a need.

Finally got the backpacks filled with school supplies delivered today. Took 5 to Spring City Elementary School, and 5 to Spring City Middle School. The staff was very appreciative. Talked with them some and found that some of the kids come to school needing shoes. Maybe we'll do shoe store gift cards as our next school community service project. Reigniting Our Mission!

Join us in shouting HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of the Unit's Junior members, Madison Smith. Maddie has been a member since birth. She helps out at dinners, parades, and fund-raising events. We wish her the very best!
