Cub Scout Pack 21

Cub Scout Pack 21 Cub Scout Pack 21 is the newest addition to Scouting in Spotsylvania County.

We are chartered by the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter of the Izaak Walton League. We meet at their facility located at 12400 Herndon Rd in Spotsy on Thursday nights 6-7pm.

Saturday was a big day for Pack 21!

Our Scouts officially crossed over into their new ranks, marking another milestone in their Scouting journey. Watching these kids grow in confidence, leadership, character, and independence year after year is one of the greatest privileges of being a leader, cubmaster and parent.

From our newest ranks to those taking the next big step forward, each Scout has worked hard to get where they are today. They have learned new skills, faced challenges, served their community, made lifelong friendships, and created memories that will stay with them for years to come.

To our families: thank you for the countless meetings, campouts, events, and adventures. Scouting is truly a family effort, and these accomplishments belong to all of you as well.

A special congratulations to every Scout who crossed that bridge Saturday. We are incredibly proud of the young people you are becoming and excited to see what this next year in Scouting has in store for you.

Once a member of Pack 21, always a member of Pack 21.

Tonight was our last Pack 21 meeting of the year! 🥹 Next time we all gather, our scouts will be crossing over to their next ranks… which feels impossible because I’m pretty sure we just started this year yesterday.

This year’s final adventures included:

🦁 Lions: learned where food comes from, and started hydroponic avocado gardens. Future farmers or future guacamole experts… time will tell.

🐯 Tigers: explored art, made origami cats, and learned how to signal for help if they ever need it. Tiny artists with survival skills — a strong combination.

🐺 Wolves: went on a hike and touched grass. Truly living their best, most grounded lives.

🐻 Bears: built emergency fishing containers/tackle boxes and learned how to attach them to sticks found in the woods. Basically one step away from surviving in the wilderness indefinitely.

🎒 Webelos: played Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza… which, if you’ve never experienced it, is somewhere between family game night and absolute chaos.

Watching these kids grow in confidence, skills, friendships, and independence has been such a privilege. Proud doesn’t even cover it. ❤️

Here’s to another year of adventures, learning, laughter, and watching these scouts become incredible humans.

🎣🐟 What a FIN-tastic night for Pack 21! 🐟🎣

Our Join Scout Night was a huge success, and even though the weather was a little cool, it turned out to be just about perfect for casting a line and making memories!

We had Scouts (and future Scouts!) out by the water, and guess what… the fish were biting! 🎉 Several were caught, and even better- some of our kids reeled in their very first fish! Talk about a moment they won’t forget!

There’s nothing better than seeing those proud smiles, a little patience paying off, and a whole lot of teamwork and encouragement along the way. Nights like this are what Scouting is all about- trying new things, building confidence, and having fun together.

If you missed it, don’t worry- we’ve got plenty more adventures ahead. Come join the fun with Pack 21! 🐾

Beginning in June, our Tuesday Sunset Parades are held at the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial as we carry on a tradition 225 years in the making. Join Scout Night is happening and we’re taking it OUTSIDE 🌲

We’re talking:
🐟 Fishing
🌿 Fresh air
🙃 Organized chaos (the fun kind)
🔥 Kids actually putting their energy to good use

We’ll also be sharing what Cub Scouts is all about — adventures, skills, friendships, and giving kids a place to just be kids (while learning some pretty cool stuff along the way).

👉 Bring a fishing pole if you’ve got one
👉 Bring your kid (mandatory 😄)

Today our Cub Scouts took on a meaningful adventure—our 10 Commandments Hike! 🥾✨

Along the walk, scouts stopped at different churches to learn, reflect, and talk about what each commandment means in their everyday lives. From showing kindness and respect to making good choices even when it’s hard, these kids really stepped up and shared some thoughtful ideas. It sparked some great conversations about respect, values, and understanding others.

From showing kindness and honesty to making good choices even when it’s not easy, these scouts had some truly thoughtful reflections along the way.

It’s always amazing to see how these kids grow—not just in skills, but in character and perspective. So proud of each of them for being open, curious, and respectful throughout the day. 💛
