How It All Began!

Transitions’ beginning is a story of one woman with a passion to give. Her name is Tracy Fulford. Tracy, at the time, was missions pastor for River of Life Worship Center, was traveling on Rt 1 near the Massaponax area and stumbled upon a local motel with plenty of kids playing and she had plenty of food to give. Once meeting the motel manager, and delivering the food for kids, her heart was broken and she shared this burning with our pastor. Soon, ROL started hosting hot meals at the one location once a month, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations for two motels in that area and a host of love and support. After serving for several months, Pastor Tracy and Pastor Jeff received notification that they were up for adopting their two beautiful teenage daughters from China and would no longer be able to work the ministry full-time. That’s where it all began! Neal and I were appointed as motel ministry directors and started serving alongside them until their departure. God had bigger plans and we had no idea what He was about to do.

One evening, as Neal and I were praying, God spoke to both of us at the same time with the same vision. God let us know that we were only enabling the people to continue in this life of destruction and even though we were sharing food once a month, there had to be more. More than enabling them. They needed a Savior (just like us) and they needed someone to love and care for them and empower them with the tools to move forward and not enable them with a once a month meal. We immediately shared this with Pastor Dale and he IMMEDIATELY knew that there was work to be done and that God had called Neal and me out to be local missionaries in the area. Pastor Dale, so graciously prayed with us, blessed us and sent us out to form this non-profit that you now know as Transitions 4 You. We no longer serve just one hot meal a month, with the partnership of local churches, businesses, and individuals, we now serve weekly hot meals as well as weekly children, youth and adult ministries. We now work with individual families by equipping them with the tools needed to not just survive, but to be EMPOWERED to move out of the motel and have stability in their lives. This my friend, is our humble beginnings! TRANSITIONS 4 YOU, INC. IS A 501 (C)3 ORGANIZATION AS RECOGNIZED BY THE IRS. WE ARE NOT A MINISTRY OF ANY PARTICULAR CHURCH, WE ARE MADE UP OF MANY CHURCH SERVING TOGETHER AS THE BODY OF CHRIST.
