Wow! Was it a hot one out there today! But the fish kept biting! 🎣 🐜 🐞 🐛 Project Healing Waters Fredericksburg, VAWe were able to spend a few hours at a private pond catching small mouth bass and pan fish!

We drove to Tennessee, cooked great meals, shared a few tales, indulged the cool river waters, and in the end deepened our friendships for one another. 🎣 ⛰️ 🐻 🦆

Fishing licenses are a must, (they fund our conservation efforts), but there are options for veterans. Are you aware of these options? Lifetime licenses for disabled veterans. A very simple process.

Fortunate to fish along side our sister program Project Healing Waters - Wi******er, Virginia. The Virginia Elks Youth Camp graciously hosted us for lodging and evening meals. We fished together, cooked together, and ate together! Camaraderie, as always was on point.

Four Fredericksburg Project Healing Waters folks had a great day fishing at the Outer Banks, NC. The bluefish were numerous and voracious feeders! White clousers were the ticket. Thrown into a "boil" had these fish basically fighting each other for the bite. Thank you to our guides Capt Bryan Dehart and Capt Dave Lusk of Salt Minded who put us into numerous bluefish feeding frenzies. Thanks also to Dick Barnett for sponsoring this to make it possible!

Fishing at the Rose River Farm is always highly anticipated. However, fishing with Dick Barnett is a unique experience altogether. Mr. Barnett is the founder of the PHW Fredericksburg program. His generosity and kindness throughout the years has allowed many veterans to fish this pristine river. To thank him, Project Healing Waters Fredericksburg, VA volunteers and participants donated him a hand made one of a kind bamboo rod! 🎣 🏔️
