Spotsylvania Lodge No. 26 met tonight for an inspiring evening of Masonic education and milestone celebrations.

The Feast of St. John: In honor of the Grand Master’s proclamation, Right Eminent William "Bill" Searcy III presented an excellent educational program on our Patron Saint, John the Baptist, alongside a powerful reminder to support the Masonic Home of Virginia (MAHOVA).

56-Year Milestone: The Lodge formally recognized and celebrated Right Worshipful Carl Weeks for his remarkable 56 years of dedicated service to the Craft.

Thank you to all who traveled to sit with us tonight as we continue to "Build Upon the Cornerstone."

Tonight, Spotsylvania Lodge No. 26 traveled to Fredericksburg Masonic Lodge No. 4 for a special Called Communication dedicated to the growth of our Craft.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Brother John Garman successfully returned a flawless Entered Apprentice catechism examination! His hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence were on full display tonight, earning a unanimous vote of proficiency from the brethren.

A huge thank you to Worshipful James Ragsdale for his excellent mentorship of Brother Garman, and to Worshipful David Bennett for stepping into the East to conduct tonight's examination.

Please join us in congratulate Brother John on this major milestone as he prepares to take his next step in Freemasonry!

Brother Ziggy has been facing some significant health and mobility challenges recently following a medical setback. He is currently resting and receiving care, but he could truly use our prayers. Please lift him up in your thoughts, asking for his continued comfort, strength, and healing.

On a brighter note, Brother Tom is doing well and keeping his spirits high! We are keeping him close in our thoughts and prayers for his ongoing health and happiness.

Abaca Grotto, MOVPER will meet on Thursday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4. This month, Abaca Grotto is hosting a Turtle Degree event before the meeting. Those interested in gathering for dinner may do so at J. Brian's at 5:30 p.m. The Turtle Degree event will be held in the Baker Room of Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4 at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. The cost of the Turtle Degree for those who have not yet had it is $20. The event is open to all Freemasons and Their Ladies. If you want to pre-register for this event, please go to Abaca Grotto's website

We had a truly memorable Stated Communication on April 27th. We were honored to receive an official visit from the Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, Most Worshipful Matthew Todd Szramoski.

Before the meeting, we enjoyed a fantastic fellowship dinner and a presentation from Mark Shuman, Head Coach of the Fork Union Military Academy football team. It was a privilege to present him with a Certificate of Appreciation!

• June 20th – July 4th: Our annual Fireworks sales fundraiser begins.

That hits different when you’re a Mason.

We are taught to guard our words. To speak truth. To keep our obligations. To stand by what we say.

But we are not responsible for how others twist it, filter it, or hear it through their own bias.

Integrity means this:

🧱 Say what you mean.
🧱 Mean what you say.
🧱 Stand by it.

And then let it rest.

Inside the Lodge, and out in the world, we’re called to be men of character — not men chasing approval.

You can’t control someone else’s interpretation.
You can control your intent.

Stay within due bounds.
Speak with honor.
Let your conscience be your guide.

That’s a man squared away.
