9-22-26 Tonight SFD drilled on using a variety of extrication tools, stabilization equipment, and techniques to stabilize vehicles and extricate simulated patients.

Vehicles were staged in various positions including being overturned to simulate real world incidents.

Training like this helps our firefighters keep their skills sharp, stay familiar with our equipment, and remain prepared to respond whenever needed.

A big thank you to the Big Junkyard for donating the vehicles and supporting the training of our firefighters! Having vehicles to practice on gives our firefighters valuable real-world training experience. We truly appreciate this partnership and your commitment to our department and community.

This past Tuesday SFD along with the Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Department and the Spotswood Police Department helped bag groceries and accept donations at the Spotswood ShopRite as they celebrated to continue the fight against hunger in our community. All proceeds are distributed to local food pantries.

Congratulations to Probationary Firefighter Aiden Oross and Junior Firefighter Tyler Jackson for paying tribute to FDNY firefighters by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. Your individual tribute not only remembers the sacrifice of an FDNY firefighter, but symbolically completes their heroic journey to save others. Job well done!

25 years ago today America was attacked when 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes in a series of coordinated su***de attacks by the al-Qaeda terrorist group against the United States. The death toll was nearly three thousand including 343 FDNY firemen and 37 Port Authority police officers. Many rescue and recovery workers continue to feel the effects from the attacks to this day. God bless those who made the ultimate sacrifice and god bless the United States 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #9/11

8-30-26 at approximately 16:30 SFD was dispatched as part of a Middlesex County Tanker Taskforce to respond mutual aid into South Brunswick to assist the Monmouth Junction Vol. Fire Department with a large pile of brush that was burning. Engine 71-1 responded and operated on-scene for approximately 7 hours before being released. During the time of the mutual aid call SFD also responded to three other calls for service in the borough.
