Inland Empire Utility Coordinating Council - IEUCC

Inland Empire Utility Coordinating Council - IEUCC The IEUCC's major task is to fund the utility notification call center for this area and provide call before you dig information upon request.

The Inland Empire Utility Coordination Council, Inc. (IEUCC) started at the Inland NW Associated General Contractors office in the 1960’s. At the time a utility contractor wanted to coordinate the installation of a very large underground project with all involved utilities. The council started with a small group of utilities and contractors. It has grown to approximately 110 underground facility o

wners and 150 contractor members. The board is made up of both utility and contractor representatives. The members all work together on the three C’s of the Call Before You Dig message:Communication, Coordination and Cooperation. The IEUCC became a not for profit corporation in 1990. Its major task is to fund the utility notification call center for this area through members’ annual dues and non member notification fees. The council also provides call before you dig information upon request. They meet monthly on the second Tuesday, at 11:30am at Sweet Ole Bob’s Café.

National Flag Day is a day honoring the national flag, observed on June 14. The holiday commemorates the date in 1777 when the United States approved the design for its first national flag.

Today we also recognize the colored flags that protect our nations underground utilities and the locators that place them!

Did you know that an 811 ticket only results in public utility lines being marked? That means water, gas, sewer, and telecom lines running from the street to your home or business are covered—but privately installed lines are not.

Private lines may include:
- Underground sprinkler systems
- Propane or private gas lines
- Landscape lighting wiring
- Invisible pet fences

If you’re digging near private utilities, you’ll need to hire a private utility locator to ensure everything is marked before you break ground. Taking this extra step helps prevent costly damage and ensures a safer worksite.
