Summer is officially underway at the clubhouse! We kicked it off with a family event, sharing Indian tacos and fry bread from Indigenous Eats. Families heard about our upcoming summer camps designed to keep kids active and learning while school's out, and spent the afternoon playing games together. Bring on the rest of the season.

The boys tried their hand at archaeology with DIY “dig blocks”, unearthing buried toys at the Clubhouse. Bryce and Emmit jumped right in. It got a little wild. Probably best they were not handling any actual relics. 😆

This is what mentorship looks like more often than not. Showing up, getting hands dirty, and being a little silly.

The new basketball hoop is officially broken in! We have a feeling it will see plenty of use this summer. Thank you to the donors who help us create a space where kids can move, play, and be themselves. If you want to be part of that, our Amazon wish list is linked below.

Ray and Kole, mid-Capri Sun contest. We are not entirely sure how this started, but we fully supported it. Being a kid is supposed to be fun. We are glad the Clubhouse is a place where that can happen.

Graduation day for some very proud kids. Our mentors got to celebrate their youth at the Little Bird Graduation, part of WSU Spokane's Native American Health Sciences initiative. The program pairs Western medicine with Traditional Knowledge to introduce Native youth to careers in health care.

Every Tribal Nation represented by our youth has a place on the wall of our Clubhouse. It is a small gesture with a big message. You belong here, and where you come from matters.

Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, our Clubhouse now has a Nex Playground. It is an active gaming system that gets kids moving while they play, and getting youth active and engaged is something we are always excited about. Our youth love it. So do the mentors. 😆

Our Clubhouse got a fresh coat of paint and a whole new feel. The walls now feature artwork and custom core asset and core values posters with the faces of our own youth and mentors, so every child who walks through our doors sees themselves reflected in this space.

None of this would be possible without the generous support of our donors. If you would like to help us continue making the Clubhouse a welcoming home for our kids, take a look at our donation wish list in the comments below.

We are honored to be First Interstate Bank's featured nonprofit for the month of June. Each month, First Interstate selects a nonprofit to support through community donations, and this month that spotlight is on our youth and the work we do together.

If you are looking for a way to give, the Northside branch at 518 W Francis Ave is accepting donations on our behalf all month long. You can also support us directly through our Amazon wish list, linked below. Thank you, First Interstate, for this generous recognition!
