A good night at the Clubhouse for our back to school event last week, an evening centered on community and belonging. Families gathered over pizza, painted murals about what family means to them, and made turtles inspired by the Turtle Island story the kids learned this summer. One of our families honored us with their Crow teepee traditions and helped everyone build their own.

Trying new foods is a hard sell for a lot of kids, especially the healthy ones. Not for Max. He loved every bit of the plums, watercress, and lineup of Washington apple varieties.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Lori Hunt as our new Executive Director.

A lifelong educator and Eastern Washington native, Lori has spent over two decades in education, including leadership roles in Washington's community college system focused on student success and building partnerships. She's a first-generation college graduate with a doctorate and master's in Educational Leadership from Washington State University and a bachelor's from Gonzaga University.

Lori comes to this work believing, as we do, that strong relationships and real opportunity change what's possible for a young person.
