Happy Earth Day🌎🌱

56 years ago, Earth Day was born out of a simple truth that the people closest to the land are the ones who protect it. As humans that has always been us.

The Spokane Mountaineers exists to bring people together around a love of the outdoors, to educate and equip them to move through it safely, and to fight for the preservation of the wilderness, forests, and waters that make all of it possible. fellowship, safety, conservation are at the heart of our mission as an organization.

This earth day, we invite you to get outside and let the beauty of this region remind you what’s worth fighting for. Then do something about it, sign up for a cleanup, lend your voice to the advocacy efforts protecting our public lands, and stay connected to a community that shows up for the outdoors year round. These places deserve our attention and dedication every day, not just today.

Join us on Earth Day, April 22, with the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife for a hands-on volunteer event at Waikiki Springs Nature Preserve! Spend your morning giving back to nature by helping improve this beautiful wildlife area. Volunteers will assist with litter cleanup, repairing damaged fencing, and closing unauthorized "social trails," which can harm native plants, destroy wildlife habitat, and lead to erosion. Together, we’ll restore areas and prepare the land for future native plant restoration.

This project is made possible in partnership with Washington Trails Association and Spokane Mountaineers. Thank you! https://inlandnwland.org/event/waikiki-springs-wildlife-area-earth-day-trail-clean-up/ *Photo by Nick James

🚵‍♀️ Mountain biking season is HERE and we’re ready to help you ride with confidence.

We’re offering both Mountain Biking Fundamentals and Intermediate Mountain Biking classes throughout the season, with our first class kicking off April 18th!

Mountain Biking Fundamentals is a one-day class focused on building your balance, control, and stability. Teaching the foundation every rider needs before hitting the trails.

Intermediate Mountain Biking takes it up a notch. Building on the fundamentals, this one-day class dives deeper into cornering techniques, bike body separation, front and rear wheel lifts, rock dodge, and riding a tight circle. Then we level things up with jumping, drops, and beginning wheelie on natural terrain.

Classes run a few times throughout the season, spots are limited, so grab yours before they fill up!
