The Gonzaga University Faith and Reason Institute

The Gonzaga University Faith and Reason Institute Dedicated to an integrationist understanding of the relation between religious faith and rationality.

The Gonzaga University Faith and Reason Institute is dedicated to developing an integrationist understanding of faith and reason through a philosophical investigation into both the nature and results of scientific research and through critical discussion and reflection on topics in philosophical theology. We aim to achieve these ends through the sponsorship of curriculum enhancement efforts, scholarly research, and public programs.

Time sensitive! Paper proposals due July 15th!

Friends of the Gonzaga Faith & Reason Institute:

We're pleased to announce the Faith, Film, and Philosophy 2023 Seminar, focused on the topic Multiverses and Alternate Realities: Other Worlds in Film. The Seminar is an exciting opportunity for scholars and fans of film to discuss the connections between film, popular culture, and faith as they appear in films that address the theme of multiverses and other worlds. A seminar of 12-15 selected participants will read one another’s papers and engage in a sustained conversation over a weekend on this theme. Featured speakers Robert K. Johnston and Steven D. Greydanus will offer public lectures on the topic and participate in the seminar conversation.

There is no registration fee for Faith, Film, and Philosophy 2023. The Gonzaga Faith & Reason Institute will provide meals over the weekend; participants are responsible for travel and lodging.

Proposals of 500 words (MS Word doc or pdf) are due July 15, 2023. For further information, including the formal Call for Proposals and the proposal submission portal, visit:

The Gonzaga Faith and Reason Institute is proud to present a book written by two of our board members. This compelling new book examines traditional arguments for and against God's existence, presenting them in an approachable yet deep manner.

You can pick it up in a variety of places, but the easiest is this Amazon link.

This work arises out of the efforts of two college teachers to explain to their beginning students how believing and reasoning are two human activities that may be integrated to form a complete Christian view of human existence.
