River's Wish Animal Sanctuary River's Wish Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit farmed animal sanctuary located on 65 acres adjacent to Riverside State Park in North Spokane, WA.

River's Wish Animal Sanctuary saves lives through rescue, education and advocacy. By treating animals as individuals and expressing both their wonder and plight through art, we foster empathy and understanding that leads to compassionate life choices. We are home to equines, bovines, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, geese and ducks and have been involved in rescue since

1994, becoming incorporated as a 501c3 organization in 2004. We offer Sanctuary Based Education through Art and Animal workshops, Garden to Table workshops, and Compassion For Animals and Compassionate Living workshops. We are House Rabbit Society educators with the House Rabbit Society.

Welcome The Barker`s Dozen litter! Thirteen adorable pups, and this is Custard. 💛

They are an adorable and sweet group of puppies who came to Murci's Mission from Best Friend`s Animal Society in SLC. Custard has an estimated birthdate of 4/20/2026.

These babies are ready for their next adventure and would be a great fit for an adopter who has room at home, love to give, and a bit of patience to help them adjust to household life and being handled by people. They’re happy, healthy, and playful! 🥰🐾

Each puppy comes spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. The adoption fee is $300 and includes a sample of the food they've been eating and their medical records.

Some good news. We are adding a roof extension to the rabbit house in the coming weeks. Rabbits will have indoor outdoor access to a predator proof space year round weather permitting. And even the cats won’t be able to escape the predator proofing. Will share photos when it’s done.

Please keep Ricky in your thoughts. This morning our very observant volunteer Betty discovered a pinkish red tissue between the lips of his mouth. We opened his mouth and found a mass on his gums. Our vet will be out to see him early this week to see him. Hopefully it’s something that can be resolved without too much difficulty. He’s eating and behaving normally and showing no signs of discomfort.

Leap 25-26 is completed. We celebrated with the participants and their families. Pete grilled Beyond Sausages and the kids received their badges. Next year we will be offering this to 4th through 8th graders. Thanks to my co-leader Dulcie and cofounder Pete.
