The Spokane Public Schools Foundation was founded in 2006 by local public education supporters like you — parents, alumni, business leaders, school district retirees, and members of the community — who understood the value of a strong public school system. The sole purpose of the Foundation is to provide smaller ($200 – $1,000) grants to teachers and the local school community through a streamline

d application process. This allows educators to engage their students in activities and programs they may not have otherwise had access to due to budgetary constraints within the general education fund of the school district.

☕️ Your Dutch Bros run tomorrow can help support local families affected by the Spokane Complex fires. ❤️

This Friday, August 14, for every drink sold at participating Spokane-area Dutch Bros locations, the Dutch Bros Foundation will donate $1 to the Spokane Complex Wildfire Response Fund.

And it gets even better — Numerica Credit Union is matching donations up to $15,000!

Funds raised will help support local students and families impacted by the fires, including families within Spokane Public Schools.

So grab your coffee, Rebel, lemonade, or favorite Dutch Bros drink tomorrow and help us show up for our community when they need us most. 💙

ASSISTANCE ASSEMBLED: Representatives from across our region gathered at Shadle Park High School this afternoon to share updates with the community regarding response efforts for the Spokane Complex Wildfire.

Spokane County Commissioner Chris Jordan announced that a Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) will open at Shadle Park High School on Thursday, Aug. 6, from noon to 6 p.m. with hours continuing Aug. 7-9 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone impacted by the fires are encouraged to attend as they are able to connect with resources.

Spokane Public Schools’ Free Kids Day Camp at Shadle Park High School will continue on Aug. 6 and Aug.7, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The camp will extend into the weekend, with schedule details coming soon.

We ask that everyone in our community visit SpokaneCommunityResources.org to connect with any of the following:

- Impacted families seeking resources
- Organizations providing support or seeking volunteers
- Community members interested in volunteering or donating
- Business leaders seeking resources

Your Shadle Park Boosters want our entire Shadle Park High School community to know that we are here for you. Our hearts are heavy as we grieve alongside those who have lost homes, neighborhoods, treasured belongings, and countless memories due to this devastating fire.
To every student, family, staff member, alumnus, and neighbor impacted—we are thinking of you and standing with you.
Now, we need those who are in a position to help.
We are beginning to gather essential items to support families as they rebuild their lives. If you are able to donate, we are looking for:
💚 Clothing for all ages (newborn through adults)
💛 New, packaged socks and underwear
💚 Household essentials to help families restart when they have a place to call home
💛 Toys, books, stuffed animals, and comfort items for children
💚 New or gently used shoes (all sizes)
💛 Athletic gear, including football cleats, girdles, court shoes, and other equipment for fall sports
💚 Toiletries for men, women, teens, children, and babies

FREE DAY CAMP: Spokane Public school is offering a free emergency drop-in camp for children ages 4 and older on Monday, Aug. 3, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Shadle Park High School.

This is intended to give parents and caregivers impacted by wildfires a safe place for their children while they take a break, run errands, or address other immediate needs. Students do not need to be enrolled in Spokane Public Schools or live within SPS boundaries to attend.

Lunch will be provided at noon through the federal free summer meals program. Activities will be supervised by Spokane Public Schools staff. Please reach out at SpokaneSchools.org/Contact to connect with district support.
