💙 We were proud and honored to join so many other excellent organizations, community leaders and community members this week at the Spokane County Emergency Management Disaster Assistance Center, at Shadle Park High School.

The Disaster Assistance Center brought together organizations and agencies offering support to people impacted by the Spokane Complex wildfires, including assistance with housing, financial recovery, health and human services, legal support, and other critical resources.

TU Tenant Counselor Manager Salvador Recinos was there to help Spokane renters understand their rights and navigate housing issues in the wake of the wildfires and displacement.

We’re grateful to the Spokane County Emergency Management team and all of the organizations working together to support Spokane-area residents as our community begins the long process of recovery. 💙

👉🏾👉🏼👉 If you or someone you know has been displaced by the wildfires and is facing housing questions or problems, please reach out to the TU via our intake form at tenantsunion.org. We’re here to help renters understand their rights and navigate housing issues during this difficult time.

💙 Nos sentimos orgullosxs y honradxs de unirnos esta semana a tantas organizaciones excelentes, líderes comunitarixs y miembros de la comunidad en el Centro de Asistencia para Desastres de Manejo de Emergencias del Condado de Spokane, ubicado en Shadle Park High School.

El Centro de Asistencia para Desastres reunió a organizaciones y agencias que ofrecen apoyo a las personas afectadas por los incendios forestales del Complejo de Spokane, incluyendo asistencia con vivienda, recuperación financiera, salud y servicios humanos, apoyo legal y otros recursos esenciales.

Salvador Recinos, Gerente de Consejería para Inquilinxs de TU, estuvo presente para ayudar a lxs inquilinxs de Spokane a conocer sus derechos y enfrentar problemas de vivienda a raíz de los incendios forestales y el desplazamiento.

Agradecemos al equipo de Manejo de Emergencias del Condado de Spokane y a todas las organizaciones que están trabajando juntxs para apoyar a lxs residentes del área de Spokane mientras nuestra comunidad comienza el largo proceso de recuperación. 💙

Washington Governor Bob Ferguson has issued an emergency proclamation suspending certain state laws and requirements to help people and communities impacted by the devastating wildfires.

For some renters affected by the wildfires, the emergency measures provide temporary protection from eviction, giving them additional time and breathing room as they navigate displacement, housing disruption, and recovery.

🏠 If your home has been damaged, destroyed, or you have been displaced by the fires, it’s important to know your rights and learn about available resources.

❤️ Our hearts are with everyone affected by these devastating fires. We’ll continue sharing information and resources to help renters navigate evacuation, displacement, and recovery.
