ZeroLandfill Spokane An award winning upcycling program that supports the needs of local artists and arts educators while reducing pressure on local landfill capacity.

ZeroLandfill Spokane is a two-day event where designers and architects donate their expired specification samples to the local creative community. Materials will collected and distributed free of charge. Help us by donating fabric, carpet, wood, tile, stone, laminate, and more. Share this information with teachers, artists, home improvement buffs, and more. The event is free and open to everyone.

ZeroLandfill™ is sustainability in action. The pounds of materials diverted from the landfill is celebrated as the materials have a second life in the community. Materials are not recycled, but rather upcycled. That is, the materials are kept intact and re-used for another purpose.

When Portland International Airport (PDX) replaced out its iconic carpet after 30 years, they didn’t just toss it—they gave it a whole new life! ✨

✅ 10,080 sq. yards of that legendary carpet (over 2 acres!) were repurposed into creative products
✅ 10,930 sq. yards of other project carpet kept out of the landfill
✅ 3.5 tons of jobsite materials (cardboard, scrap metal, plastic) were also reused

Some pieces live on as cool new products (check out the pics!), while the rest was recycled into carpet pad. Such an awesome example of sustainability and community love! ♻️
