The aromas of home-cooked meals, the sounds of laughter, and the sights of smiling faces and new friends define the Intercultural Student Center. Our mission is two-fold. First, we aim to increase intercultural interactions on campus by providing a central place for faculty, staff and students, particularly those from underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, to gather and discuss issues such as dive
rsity at Whitworth. Secondly, we foster collaboration among departments by bringing the university's various intercultural programs together under one roof. Located in Hendrick Hall, the Intercultural Student Center (ISC) is welcome to all Whitworth students as a place of community. With a kitchen, several study lounges and a seminar room, couches, computers, and a TV, the center is fully equipped to host individuals and student clubs who need a place to congregate. With an emphasis on supporting cultural groups and activities on campus, the ISC and its staff encourage Whitworth students to engage in the cultural and international communities at Whitworth and in the Spokane area. The ISC houses the Office of Student Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (SDEI), the Office of International Education (OIE) and Off-Campus programs. The ISC is open weekdays from 8 a.m - 5 p.m. The center is open for study hours, supervised by CDAs, 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. The seminar room can be reserved by student clubs for meetings.
