If you are a girl in kindergarten through 12th grade, discover yourself in Girl Scouting! Girl Scouts, founded in 1912, by Juliette Gordon Low, is the premier all-girl organization in the world. Girl Scouts of today are more than just "cookies, camp, and crafts". Oh, yes, we still revere our traditions, but we recognize that: ONE GIRL CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. GIRLS TOGETHER CAN CHANGE THE WORLD. We

encourage leadership through Take Action projects where girls identify a community need, and then implement the steps to affect a positive outcome for their community. We offer myriad of opportunities for self-discovery and growth through diverse programs. DISCOVER THE WORLD OF GIRL SCOUTS!

June 12th is a day nationally designated as Women Veterans Day. Local Spokane women veterans asked Girl Scouts to use our program center to host their 4th annual celebration, to tell stories of service, and to honor America. Tzena Scarborough, an Army veteran, pulls the celebration together, and dozens of community partners join it to offer support. Governor Ferguson signed a proclamation honoring all women veterans in the state of Washington. It was a special day, and as Girl Scouts, it was special to see the sisterhood unite. Girl Scouts thanks these veterans for their honorable service.

Another happy day in the Council! Congratulations to all our Spokane Girl Scouts, who are part our GoGetter Program that partners with the Spokane Public School system, who bridged to the next highest level. It is exciting to see the Girl Scouts get a new color sash. The excitement and glimmer in the Girl Scouts’ eyes show their happiness to be a Girl Scout and the fun adventures that lie ahead. The family members always come up appreciative of how their Girl Scout has grown in confidence over the past year. It is always a privilege to meet a three-generation family of Girl Scouts who love the movement of 114 years. Another special part of the day was to bridge a Girl Scout to Ambassador—the highest level. We celebrate the Spokane Public Schools that have supported our GoGetter Program and the counselors who give their all to the Girl Scouts every week. Cheers to our Girl Scouts and cheers to another year of Girl Scouts!💚
