If you are a girl in kindergarten through 12th grade, discover yourself in Girl Scouting! Girl Scouts, founded in 1912, by Juliette Gordon Low, is the premier all-girl organization in the world. Girl Scouts of today are more than just "cookies, camp, and crafts". Oh, yes, we still revere our traditions, but we recognize that: ONE GIRL CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. GIRLS TOGETHER CAN CHANGE THE WORLD. We

encourage leadership through Take Action projects where girls identify a community need, and then implement the steps to affect a positive outcome for their community. We offer myriad of opportunities for self-discovery and growth through diverse programs. DISCOVER THE WORLD OF GIRL SCOUTS!

Girl Scouts appreciates the tremendous support of Walmart stores all across our Council during cookie season. This year, many troops were able to visit the national convention in Washington, DC, after a successful Cookie Season, many succeeding as entrepreneurs in front of Walmart. Our CEO visited the District offices of the Inland NW this week to thank District Manager Clint for being an incredible ally for Girl Scouts over the year. We passed on a Thank You sign that speaks from our heart about all the support Walmart does for our movement. Thank you, Clint, for making our Girl Scouts’ world a better place! Our CEO met some enthusiastic employees who wanted to be part of the presentation too!

Girl Scouts celebrates Rotary of Liberty Lake for their strong history of community service. This week, they invited our CEO to talk about Girl Scouts’ history of service in our Inland NW community and the recent success at the national convention in Washington, DC, for America250. The Rotarians enjoyed the talk and the rich discussion all Girl Scouts have done to celebrate America250 this year. In the end, we discussed and honored all the community service going on to support the families impacted by the recent Spokane fires. Cheers to President Richard Maurer for leading his club to make the world a better place. Girl Scouts enjoys the partnership!

This weekend, we celebrated our top Girl Scouts at Spokane Valley Dave & Buster’s. These 26 Girl Scouts led the way in cookie donations, giving hundreds of boxes to the US military and first responders during the 2026 Cookie Sale. Their efforts also helped those impacted by the Spokane fires, as well as supporting troops overseas. Two Fairchild Air Force Base pilots, who received cookies abroad, visited to thank the girls in person. This event honored the generosity of these Girl Scouts and their families, who represent all 3,900 members of our Council. It was a fun, memorable day celebrating service, gratitude, and community!

Our second-to-last cookie reward went this week. Staff member Sarah Betts and valiant volunteer Jessica Chadwick took eight Girl Scouts to their first WNBA game in Seattle. They saw the Seattle Storm win and got to do a lot of fun things in the stadium, including the “snorkel” on the big screen. They also visited the Space Needle, Pike’s Market, the underground, and yes, the famous gum wall. But the highlight was seeing professional women athletes compete. It was a week of new experiences and fun for the whole team. Way to go three-point shooters!

Our CEO was joined by Coeur d'Alene Girl Scout Ambassador Kaylinn to thank the Sandpoint Kiwanis for their donation to send over 35 Girl Scouts to Washington, D.C., for the national convention. Kaylinn was one of five Girl Scouts who were part of Global Citizen, a very special three days of interacting with Girl Scouts worldwide that ten Councils were asked to be part of. Kaylinn did an excellent job speaking about how she was so moved by the experience of meeting so many Girl Scouts from around the world and visiting Washington, DC, for America250. Thank you to the Sandpoint Kiwanis for believing in our Girl Scouts, for giving them a lifetime opportunity, and supporting our Sandpoint Girl Scouts at the iconic Camp Stidwell. Well done, Kiwanis, for caring for kids- your lifelong mission!

Spokane continues to assess, recover, and help one another during the tragic wildfires in our region. Relief agencies and insurance companies descended on a high school parking lot in central Spokane to give as much aid as they can. It is hopeful to see neighbors come together for neighbors. Girl Scouts continues to be neighbors as well, helping all who need help, including supporting the Veterans Administration Hospital that reopens this week after being evacuated. We also continue to show support for our local fire departments, including Spokane Valley Station #5. Girl Scouts knows the recovery will be long, but we hope to help in any way we can.

Our Council had a special showing of Cookie Queens this weekend at AMC Kennewick 12 to celebrate its release. The movie, while independently produced and not affiliated with Girl Scouts, does celebrate Girl Scout entrepreneurship and Girl Scouts reaching their cookie goals in a busy cookie season. Leaders and Girl Scouts from Walla Walla to Sunnyside to the Tri-Cities enjoyed the special showing. Achieving goals after all is a Girl Scout rite of passage. The movie will play this month in our Council in Spokane, Lewiston, and Wenatchee. It is expected to stream on Amazon in the fall. Thank you to AMC for making this showing a possibility, and cheers to all the families who came out for a night of cookie fun.
