You are valuable… even on the days you don’t feel like it.

Unhealthy relationships have a way of making you question your worth. They can make you feel small, unheard, or like you have to earn love.

But here’s the truth:
Your value is not up for debate.

You deserve to be treated with kindness, respect, and care—always. Not just when it’s convenient. Not just when you’ve “earned” it. Always.

At Create Your Statement, we believe awareness is the first step toward prevention. Knowing your worth helps you recognize when something isn’t right—and gives you the strength to choose better.

As you head into this weekend, remember:
You are worthy.
You are valuable.
And you deserve nothing less than full respect. ❤️

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month 💜

Here’s the truth…

Real love respects.

Love doesn’t control.
Love doesn’t isolate.
Love doesn’t manipulate.
Love doesn’t make you feel small, scared, or unsure of your worth.

That’s why the work we do at Create Your Statement is so important. We are teaching teens how to:

✨ Identify unhealthy behaviors and red flags
✨ Recognize manipulation, control, and emotional abuse
✨ Establish healthy boundaries
✨ Build respectful, safe relationships
✨ Find their voice and use it

We can’t just tell teens “don’t date the wrong person.”
We have to equip them with the tools to recognize when something isn’t right.

Empowered youth become confident adults.
Teens who understand boundaries grow into individuals who expect respect — and give it.

Let’s normalize conversations about healthy love.
Let’s model it.
Let’s teach it.
Let’s protect it.

Because real love respects — always. 🧡

Do abusers show potential warning signs?
Comment your answer below 👇🏻

Abuse in relationships rarely begins with physical violence. It often starts small — so small that it can be easy to overlook or excuse. Early warning signs might look like excessive jealousy, constant texting to “check in,” isolating you from friends and family, or making you feel guilty for wanting time to yourself.

Over time, those small red flags can turn into larger acts of control, manipulation, verbal attacks, and eventually physical or sexual violence. Abusive partners often start by testing boundaries — seeing what they can get away with — and once they gain control, the behavior escalates.

If your partner makes you feel afraid, monitored, or guilty for things that shouldn’t require permission, those are signs that something isn’t right. Real love supports and uplifts you — it doesn’t control, shame, or harm you.

Remember: no one deserves to be mistreated, and abuse is never your fault. Speaking up, reaching out for help, and trusting your instincts can make all the difference.

If you recognize these behaviors in your relationship, you’re not alone. We have resources on our website & people ready to help you create a plan for safety and healing. ❤️

What an Incredible Night! 🎉
We’re still glowing from the joy and inspiration of last Saturday’s Gala! The evening was truly magical — a celebration of community, generosity, and the power of coming together to make a difference.
Thanks to our amazing guests, sponsors, and volunteers, the event was an overwhelming success! Together, we not only shared laughter, great food, and meaningful conversations, but we also made a real impact — changing lives for youth right here in Spokane. 💙
Because of your support, more young people in our community will have access to the opportunities, mentorship, and resources they need to combat dating abuse.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this night one to remember. Here’s to building brighter futures — together! ✨

💜 Love Shouldn’t Hurt 💜

Love is meant to make you feel safe, valued, and seen — never afraid, small, or silenced.
If love hurts, if it controls, isolates, or breaks you down — that’s not love.

Too many people suffer in silence, believing their voice doesn’t matter. But it does. Every voice matters. Speaking up can save your life — and it can inspire someone else to find the courage to speak up, too.

At Create Your Statement, we believe the cycle of domestic violence can be broken before it begins. That’s why we work with Spokane youth to teach awareness and prevention before they even start dating. We empower teens to recognize unhealthy behaviors, understand what a healthy relationship looks like, and feel confident amplifying their voice when something doesn’t feel right.

Because when we teach the next generation that love should never hurt — we change the future. 💜

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Domestic violence doesn’t just start in adulthood—it often starts much earlier. Teen dating abuse is adult domestic violence in the making.

That’s why at Create Your Statement, we’re committed to educating youth on teen dating abuse awareness and prevention. When teens learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, gain the confidence to use their voice, and know what to do if they ever face abuse, we can begin to break the cycle before it continues into adulthood.

Every conversation matters. Every student we reach matters. And every step toward awareness brings us closer to a world with fewer domestic violence cases.

Together, let’s raise awareness, start the conversations, and create change!
Let’s bring awareness to Domestic Violence and Teen dating abuse this month.
Let’s stand with all those who are or have been victims and may we help them find their voice! 💜
