Special Kids of Spokane Special Kids of Spokane is a community providing resources & support to special needs families. No one understands more than another special needs family.

Special Kids of Spokane was created in May of 2019 to help families of special needs children feel a little less isolated and more supported. Being a parent of a special needs child can feel isolating and resources can seem limited. When you are able to connect with a group of families that are walking in the same shoes as you, our hope is you feel less isolated and begin to feel like you’re not a

lone in this journey. We are more than an online support group. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, SKS hosts free quarterly parent support events covering topics relevant to being a caregiver for a special needs person and we invite speakers from businesses & organizations around the Spokane area that provide services and support to special needs families to attend. We hope to meet you and your family soon! Please reach out if we can help support you in any way!

Iron Sharpens Iron Taekwondo is teaching this 8-week winter session, open to all homeschoolers! Master Matt Hughes has a heart for the homeschool community, and all special needs families (so even if you don't homeschool, and are looking for an opportunity for your kiddo, check out his school).

This class is hosted by Central Valley Homeschool Co-op (cvhsc.org), and is a solid way for homeschool kids to build confidence, learn discipline in a positive setting, burn some energy and make friends!

Students will also have the chance to test for their next belt at the end of the session, which keeps them motivated and excited.
If your kids have ever talked about trying martial arts, this is the perfect way to start. And a great "experience" Christmas gift!
