What is your association with SCRAPS? SCRAPS is the agency STAHR’s mission supports, so it makes sense to partner together! Both organizations strive for
the same thing, keeping pets safe and at home with their families. What is STAHR’s intake policy for sick, injured, or aggressive pets? STAHR does not respond to calls regarding animals found in these conditions. These calls are referred to SCRAPS. What do I need to do to be a volunteer for your organization? All animals that are not reunited with their people are transported to SCRAPS for impound. Can I adopt the pet if it is not reunited with its people? STAHR does not facilitate pet adoptions. Where are found pets being held by STAHR? All animals are short term fostered by volunteers in approved/vetted foster homes. What pet handling training do your volunteers receive? STAHR consults with a reputable trainer who also provides training for our volunteers. How long does STAHR hold found pets before transporting to SCRAPS? STAHR’s policy allows a lost/found/displaced pet to be held up to 72 hours. The average time a pet is in STAHR’s care, is less than 24 hours. Is there a fee for the service you provide?
