Frost 2026-anyone have frost pictures to share this season? The November meeting has a photography contest. Find more details in the Facebook event. Cash prizes! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone enter a frost picture in the last several years. ❤️

This is also the officers meeting. We need a new secretary, trustee, and treasurer. Commitment is about 10 hours a year and we’d like you to attend most meetings. ❤️

The Novembers meeting is the officers elections. The club needs a new treasurer, secretary, and third year trustee.

The treasurer and secretary role probably takes about ~10 hours a year, and attendance at most meetings. The secretary takes notes during the meeting, and forwards them on to the DahliaFax editor.

The trustee role signs off on paperwork and attends most meetings, they also recruit new officers for the club.

Let me know if you have any more questions, the club welcomes any and all who want to help out this great organization!

Did you have a hard season? Things didn’t go as according to plan as they could have? You fought bugs or weather disasters and more? Lost your favorite plant, spent time and money on something that didn’t pan out, or got a little burned out at some point?

Guess what!? YOU STILL DID IT! 🎉 🙌

You gardened!!

You participated in the real world in a new way, stretched yourself, had a reason to see a sunset and experience the seasons, cared deeply, tried hard and failed, and tried again. Your hands got dirty and your back hurt, you smiled and were proud of your efforts, even if only until the weeds took over again. You saw a vision, chased a dream, explored something new, and solved problems as you went. You saw something beautiful, noticed that which before would have been overlooked, and found a little something to smile at every day.

And that maybe have been the whole point all along❤️

Regardless of your results and whether you had one plant, a hundred, or a thousand- gardeners everywhere are proud of you!

Cutting the Veteran’s Garden flowers and Trial Garden-thanks Dan 🙂

Every year-around this time-the IEDS club lets Hospital workers and patients come cut all the flowers off the Dahlias in the garden. Watch the video to see this magical event! (In the comments section)

We will need tremendous help digging, and especially cutting and wrapping the Dahlia tubers in the next several weeks. Please save some time in your schedule to help us with this effort. This is a great way to learn more about dahlias. More info to come on Facebook and through our club DahliaFax email. Club meeting next Thursday October 8th 6:30pm at the Manito meeting room.
