The Freya May 17th celebration is always a favorite time to show our love of our Norwegian heritage!

Freya Lodge ended the year with a fantastic Christmas party and fundraising Holiday Bazaar! The beautiful Manito Country Club was the perfect setting with its Nordic influenced design and the scrumptious salmon and meatball luncheon. It was so FUN!

Lots of fun ensued today when Freya Lodge played Norwegian Bingo! A big thank you to Cindy for being our caller and teaching us the Norwegian words plus all the members who donated prizes.

This past weekend was the ever popular Fall Folk Festival in Spokane. Freya Lodge was so proud to share our Norwegian heritage and stories with so many local Nordic folks. It’s always a fun filled day of music and cultures from around the world!

Freya Sisters, plus family and friends, had a wonderful Midsommar Eat & Greet last night! The array of potluck treats was delicious and the weather could not have been more perfect! Happy Summer to all!

Our first meeting at 2023 was a smashing success despite Mother Nature and snow! Five new officers were installed to our Freya Board, all dressed in their Nordic finery. Our guest speaker was Lori from the Spokane Weavers. She shared with us her journey of learning how to weave beautiful and intricate Norwegian bands used in bunads for both women and men. Freya members also brought Norwegian woven items to share such as wall hangings and table runners.

Freya “Ladies on the Town” had a delightful dinner together at Darcy’s restaurant in Spokane Valley. Much to our surprise, we were serenaded by a local Barbershop Quartet! Sweet, sweet songs!

Freya Sisters had a wonderful time meeting so many Scandinavian Spokane residents at the Fall Folk Festival! What a terrific event to showcase so many beautiful cultures and artistic talents! A big thank you to our many members who helped staff our booth this weekend. 🇳🇴
