Search & rescue volunteers from INSAR/SCSAR spent yesterday morning training at the Minnehaha Climbing Rocks.

The team is continuing to train in preparation of our re-accreditation in high angle rope rescue with the Mountain Rescue Association later this year. With the record temperatures this week, the team made sure to get off the rocks by about 10:30 ☀🔥

Help INSAR help the public!

Inland Northwest Search & Rescue is a volunteer nonprofit rescue organization that doesn't charge for our services. We're funded entirely by donations and by money out of our own volunteer's pockets. This year, approximately $8,500 is needed to replace life safety ropes, webbing, pulleys, and other rescue equipment that are at the end of their usable life.

You can help by creating a Facebook fundraiser for us! Fundraisers can easily be created by visiting this link: https://www.facebook.com/fund/InlandNorthwestSAR/

Direct donations can also be accepted by clicking the "Donate" button near the top of our page: https://www.facebook.com/InlandNorthwestSAR/

We sincerely appreciate any and all fundraising help. Thank you and stay safe on your hikes, camping trips, hunting trips, and other outdoor adventures!

Inland Northwest Search & Rescue volunteers spent yesterday evening training at the Minnehaha Climbing Rocks for our upcoming Mountain Rescue Association re-accreditation in high-angle rescue. MRA accredited teams must re-test in high-angle rescue, avalanche rescue, and wilderness search on a rotating basis to maintain their accreditation.

Team members practiced building a dual capability two tensioned rope system (DCTTRS) that can convert between lowering and raising an attendant.
