Very honored that two of the experts on homelessness, featured in our Housing & Help video series, are also the authors of this article featured on CNN.com this week. Thank you Marc Eichenbaum and Mike Nichols for all you do to help everyone in Houston, here in Spokane and across America, develop a roadmap to manage homelessness. It can be done. Bravo!

Marc Eichenbaum and Michael Nichols write that a decade ago Houston had one of the largest homelessness populations in the US, but today the city has reduced the number of unhoused people by over 60% by investing in the intervention of housing first.

Housing and Help Episode 2 is available now! Camp Hope is the fastest growing community in Spokane and the largest homeless encampment on Washington State Land. In just nine months, this group of our neighbors experiencing homelessness, has grown from 160 protesters in front of City Hall to a small village of over 600 who have banded together for a variety of reasons.

We’ll meet Julie Garcia from Jewels Helping Hands, whose non-profit oversees this unique encampment of our neighbors that have somehow slipped through society’s cracks.
