North Central Class of 2006 Reunion Update

Because of the devastating fire and the impact it has had on so many members of our community, our 20-year reunion is currently postponed. We have not selected a new date, and the original venue and catering plans will not be moving forward at this time.

We have completed the nonprofit filing for our class organization so that we can open a bank account when needed, keep reunion funds separate and properly accounted for, and move forward with future reunions on a more organized basis.

For now, we are discussing the possibility of holding something much more informal and low-key than originally planned, perhaps a simple gathering where people can reconnect and support one another without the cost or pressure of a formal reunion. We are still considering a formal reunion at a later date and will share more if those plans come to fruition.

After COVID disrupted our class’s reunion plans in 2021, it is hard not to feel as though history is repeating itself.

Most importantly, we are thinking about everyone affected by the fire and are grateful that our classmates and their families are safe.

CLASS OF '86 REUNION UPDATE per Cathy Mabee: I'm happy to share that our North Central High School Class of '86 40th Reunion is still a go! ❤️

Given everything happening in Spokane, this wasn't an easy decision. My heart continues to be with everyone affected by the fires, especially those who have evacuated or are facing so much uncertainty.

If you're able to join us this weekend, I think we'll all appreciate the chance to reconnect, support one another, and share a few laughs. And if you can't make it, we completely understand.

Check out the 'Educational Foundation' and 'Scholarship Recipients' if you want to be so extra proud of what the Alumni Association has created to help keep great activities going in the school and honoring qualifying grads with scholarships! Shout out to Alan Hanson who developed these foundations, to the early contributors and ongoing board members.

Memorial for Connie Frigaard Martin & Lanney Martin. Please read article included to see Connie's impact for the vision of a new North Central High School. She fought hard to have this high school rebuilt on its original grounds, not to be closed down, which would have caused neighborhood kids to be bussed out to other schools in the city. Her legacy lives on.

Her amazing family and friends shared her incredible life story and impact yesterday and also that of her 2nd husband Lanney Martin who, in his own right, also led a sterling life.
