Our major mission is to provide assistance and aide to our many Veterans and their families, during their time of need. We also have National representatives that address the Congress with our concerns about such issues as the VA Hospitals, Housing our Homeless Veterans, and many, many more important issues

that concern our comrades in arms. We also provide community services such as our yearly Easter party and egg hunt, Breakfast with Santa, etc...

"UPDATES "
As you are all aware fires have been ravaging the Spokane and surrounding areas for days now. Due to this horrific loss of homes and the potential for more devastation the District 9 Commander has canceled the District picnic scheduled for this Saturday at Elk. Any awards presentations will happen at the SOI, which has been moved from 3386 Airway to post 51 on west mission. The Department Post/Auxiliary are busy moving funds to support relief efforts for fire victims. On that note, if you our any veterans or families of veterans have been affected by this devastating event, PLEASE, PLEASE, get them in touch with the Post Quartermaster me (Darren Hughes) and he will assist as funds remain available both from the post relief and the department assets. I am manning the post for any one needing a place to gather and if needed we will provide food. Also anyone who's been displaced and has access to a motor home, camp trailer, camper etc, we have room in the back part of the parking lot for self contained camping for anyone who's from the affected areas. Guess that's it for now stay safe and check on your family, friends and fellow Post and Auxiliary members. Even just to make sure they are okay with the smokey conditions. God bless you, the VFW and God bless America...

Members both Post and Auxiliary please keep everyone affected by the fires in your prayers, as this has hit close to home with two of our dedicated volunteers (Chad and Colett Simonson) home is currently on fire. There will be a donation jar set up at the post. Thank you all for your prayers and support of our friends and neighbors.

Update: Due to the efforts of fire crews Chad and Colett's home was saved with some structural damage.
