Our overarching goal is to help empower tribal communities through creating a greater awareness and understanding of addictions in adolescence and building better environments to sustain recovery through prevention for the entire community. To reach this goal, we have developed the following objectives and approach. Objectives
To provide training for parents and service providers which supports th
e development of a recovery environment. Identify children and families within the communities who are in need of prevention and intervention or treatment. Tribal Service Provider Meetings
Building relationships with tribal service providers is a key component of outreach into tribal communities. These partnerships will assist in supporting adolescents, families and communities in understanding addictions and steps needed in building recovery environments. Basketball Clinics
The Basketball clinic will be a 1-day, 6 hour event. The clinics will be directed at youth between the ages of 6 to 17, split up between three age groups to accommodate skills level by age. HL staff will take this opportunity to provide information about the impacts of drugs and alcohol on health and an active athletic lifestyle. Tribal Service Provider and Family Trainings
There will be several trainings provided for tribal service providers and families. The trainings will be held either onsite at the Healing Lodge, in Spokane Valley, WA, within each tribal community, or online. For More Information Contact:
