It’s finally here…the reopening of the Argonne Library in the Spokane Valley. Join us on Saturday June 6 for Customer Appreciation Day!

There will be refreshments, activities, live music, and appreciation for your patience and understanding during the installation of the new heating and cooling system. Doors are open from 10 to 6, with live music from 1 to 3.

Wow!!! Book setup day today - so thank you to our volunteers - and do we have books! We are ready for Saturday May 30 for our massive book sale! Come 9am to 2pm. No early bird fee. Books are on a donation basis. Help us support our library. The sale is at offsite at Zion Lutheran Church, at 8304 E. Buckeye, Millwood 99212.

The Friends of the Argonne Library is happy to help sponsor several local history talks this Spring.

Our guest speaker is local author Ty Brown, who will discuss topics from several books he has written.

One presentation focuses on an engineer who helped shape Spokane but was mostly forgotten to history and the other on various ways the Little Spokane River has influenced local history and modern day. You can hear Ty speak about these topics at the following SCLD libraries.

Changes are coming!
In case you haven’t heard, the Argonne Library will be closed from Feb 23 through May 4, due to construction work inside the building. Ouch!
During that time, the Friends will still accept book donations at either Zion Lutheran Church (8304 E Buckeye St) or at the Corner Door Cafe on Argonne Rd.

Many thanks for those who have donated books for upcoming book sales. We will continue to accept donations at the Argonne Library until the end of January. But, book donations will be suspended during February to give our book sorters a rest. So, get them in while you can!
