We received an email from a student at Spokane Valley High School letting us know they are doing a drive to collect items for their school hygiene closet! So we are doing a small drive to collect some items to support HS students who need these items.

Drop off items on the porch of our office. 8910/8908 E Dalton Ave millwood Wa 99212.

A big shoutout to Whitworth University and their community building day. We current have 23 students here at the Millwood Community Garden learning about our nonprofit, the work we do at the garden and in the community and they will be pulling weeds and helping us out here too.

"I completed my Master of Science in Human Resource Management, giving me skills in human resource labor laws and compliance, HR technology, data-driven decision making, talent acquisition, department development, and more! We are happy to share about our new staff member! Holly Royston is the new STAR Club Coordinator for Arthur B Ness Elementary School!

"Holly grew up in north Idaho, has lived in Montana, Alaska, Colorado and in 2020 moved to Spokane. She and her husband, Matt, have been married for 27 years and have 3 children; two graduates of West Valley HS and the youngest currently a Junior at WV. Holly has worked with children nearly her entire adult life as a volunteer in elementary schools, a preschool teacher, an in-home childcare provider and, most recently, a Para-educator at Ness Elementary School for the last 4 years. Holly is looking forward to continuing to work within the Ness community and build strong connections with kids and families."

We love our volunteers and our partnerships! Recently, we had a couple volunteer with us and deliver the amazing meals provided by Women & Children's Free Restaurant twice a month. This was what we received after asking about their experience...

"We are community members who noticed local announcements as this group first began. We were immediately interested in finding out more about it, as I (Janie) have had four family generations live in this area.
We agreed with the concept goals Millwood Impact presented.
We chose to deliver the beautifully prepared and packaged frozen meals coming from the Women’s and Children Free Restaurant.
This is only one of the necessary Millwood Impact services.
We happily deliver a large bag of meals to families who have signed up to receive some additional food. We deliver twice a month.
We get to know the recipients as we subtly and quietly deliver to their doorsteps. Most of them will text back a smiley face, heart, or other grateful thank you.
We have been blessed to engage in a very small part of this wonderful and necessary community outreach. Every small community would benefit from a Millwood Impact program that includes nutritious full meals.
