I’d like to give huge thank‑you to the Spiro Area Chamber of Commerce for giving us the opportunity to hand out hotdogs to the community this 4th of July. Your support helps us keep these hometown traditions alive.

A special thank‑you as well to the Spiro VFW Auxiliary for jumping in and lending a hand. We appreciate your teamwork and dedication to serving our community.

Spiro showed up strong today — proud to be part of it.

Everyone come out and celebrate with us on the 4th of July!!

🇺🇸 Celebrating 250 Years of America! 🇺🇸

In honor of America’s 250th Anniversary, the Spiro American Legion Post 222 is proud to celebrate our nation’s legacy of service, sacrifice, community, and freedom.

We are honored to partner with the Spiro Area Chamber of Commerce to give back to the community that has supported us through the years. As a small token of our appreciation, we’ll be serving FREE hot dogs, chips, and cold bottled water to our families, friends, and neighbors.

We’ll be set up at the Spiro Park Pavilion area, and we’ll begin serving as soon as the parade concludes. Our goal is to serve nearly 750 hot dogs, so come hungry and celebrate with us!

As veterans, we remain committed to serving our hometown, honoring those who have worn our nation’s uniform before us, and inspiring the next generation to carry forward the values of patriotism, service, and the American spirit.

We look forward to celebrating this historic milestone with our community.

Happy Independence Day, and God bless America! 🇺🇸

June 6, 1944.
82 years ago, the world witnessed one of the greatest acts of courage in human history. At dawn, Allied forces crossed the English Channel and stormed the beaches of Normandy, a day that would turn the tide of World War II and restore hope to a world of uncertainty.

On those beaches—Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword—young men from many proud nations loaded onto troop carriers, willing to walk into overwhelming odds purely for the freedom we have. Many weren’t even old enough to vote. All had the courage to fight for their nation.

They faced machine‑gun fire, rough seas, fortified cliffs, and impossible terrain. Yet they pressed forward.
Not for glory.
Not for recognition.
But for freedom.

Their bravery was not an accident—it was a choice. A choice made by ordinary men who rose to extraordinary heights.

As we mark the 82nd anniversary of D‑Day, we reaffirm our promise:
We will remember them. We will honor their sacrifice. We will carry their legacy forward.

Freedom lives because they were willing to fight for it.

June reminds us that some wounds can’t be seen, but they are felt every single day. PTSD is real. It is heavy. And it affects far more of our brothers and sisters than most people realize.

To every Veteran fighting a battle no one else can see — we see you.
To every family supporting someone they love — we honor you.
To every soul who feels alone in the dark — you are not.

So please check on your brothers and sisters. A simple “I’m here” can change everything.

Today, we pause as a nation to remember that this holiday weekend is one of remembrance. We remember our fellow brothers and sisters who served our nation honorably and with courage to the final breath. We honor their lives in service to the United States of America by remembering those who are no longer with us. Their sacrifice is the reason we live in freedom, and it is our duty to ensure their stories are never forgotten. Let us live our life’s worthy of their sacrifice.

Rest in Honor,
Thank you and God bless you
